Find-a-Grave rocks! |
Let me know if you need a transfer if you can add more bio info. Hope everyone gets out there and photographs some stones - that is the main reason this site exists. Thanks.
I welcome edits even if its just a GPS, plot number, marker transcription or middle name etc. I like complete memorials.
Found this inscribed on a stone in Warwick, Ma.:
"Low in the ground my bed is made,
here in the dark alone I'm laid.
Depart my friends and let me rest,
I'm weary of this wilderness."
Found this on a find-a-grave profile:
Old Bones' profile poem"
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
NOTE: A couple personal policies I follow:
1) I do not link to "burial location unknown" relatives. You're supposed to know where they are buried - that is the whole point of this website.
2) I do not list cause of death unless it is some tragic accident. Would you want to be remembered forever for dying from diabetes/alcohol abuse/suicide etc.? I find it a bit tacky - but to each their own.

So excited to see this grave listed! This is my great, great aunt. I am trying to get to this cemetery as I know there are more Keaveney's that are buried here, yet are not listed on the sight. Did you get a picture or a location in the cemetery? Her birthday is 10 Aug 1890 in Dromahaire Ireland. Thanks for all your work!
Thanks for transferring Nellie Shepardson Stevens to me. I added the rest of the family on the headstone today and hope to get the pictures off my camera soon and get them uploaded. BTW, I love your Old Bones poem. Very cool. Peggy

There has been a photo request for this individual. Martha is listed as being buried at the Cherry Valley Cemetery in Leicester, MA. But the bio states she is buried in Pine Grove in Westborough, MA. I'm not sure how she got place in Cherry Valley. Could you please moved her to the correct area. Thank you.

|Heather||Crystal Lake Cemetery|
Thanks for your work at Crystal Lake Cemetery. You have posted my parents, George Peabody Morrison and Margery Godfrey Morrison, and I'd like to suggest an edit.
You have posted their first marriage date but they were subsequently divorced. I only learned recently of the first marriage. Their second marriage took place in Gardner on July 23, 1942 and that's the date they always celebrated as their wedding anniversary. I believe that's the one they would like to be public.
Also, for what it's worth my mother never used the "B" in her name.
Thanks again. Many lines of my family are buried in Crystal Lake so your work has been a big help.

You put a posting that you are looking for photos for the Hartsville Center Cemetery. Go to this link and I have a "virtual" map on my website which contains most of the graves in our cemetery http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~manymiles/index.htm
I am the Secretary for this cemetery and also have seven generations of ancestors buried here.
