I've always been fascinated with grave sites, visited cemeteries, made rubbings, took photos, etc. and must say that find-a-grave is an ideal site.

I've worked on family history projects for over 35 years and will for as long as I can. I'm more than happy to share family history with anyone interested.

The primary names I research are STROOPE, KEA, Pitts, Howton, Trammel, Hopper, Hale, Thetford, CARPER, BARTON, Lyon, Phipps, Griffith, Ellison, Shumate and many allied lines.

When I document a grave site, I try to include some information on the parents, siblings, marriage, etc. hoping this will help someone idendify their relative. In some cases, when recording my line, or lines, I've created memorials for as much of the cemetery as I've had access to.

I'll be glad to transfer your family member to you. Always remember the FAG # for the memorial page and, of course, your FAG #. PLEASE do not send me a big list of names with no numbers included... thanks

If I have grave site information in error, please contact me so that corrections can be made.

Recent projects include:

--Gig Harbor and Haven of Rest Cemeteries, Gig Harbor, Pierce County, Washington

--JCC Smith Cemetery in Texas

--Knight of Pythias and Sunset Lane Memorial Park, Port Orchard, Kitsap County, Washington

--Lovington and Resthaven Cemeteries, Lovington, Lea County, New Mexico

--Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood, Pierce County, Washington

--Mount Calvary Cemetery (Santa Barbara Cemetery) , Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico

--Calvary, Old Pioneer and Tacoma Cemeteries, Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington

--Riverside Cemetery in Vassar, Tuscola County, Michigan

Jane Ginderat Ferguson
All I have found on Jane's history is her Father's will where he mentions her as Jane Ferguson and a son Henry. Apparently his wife had already died as she was not mentioned in the will and no other children other than Jane and Henry. Her father's name was Abraham Ginderat born in Virginia abt 1715 and died shortly after Feb 1785 in Craven, now Chester, County SC. There is a copy of Abrahams will on my Ferguson/Prior tree on Abrahams page. It is on file at Chester County Probate Office and can be seen on Family Search under Chester County SC Probate records. It is in will book A1 page 270.
I have never been able to find anything on Jane's Mother. As far as Jane herself the only thing I have ever found is her tomb stone and a mention of her in Walter Brewster and Jean Agee's research.

Dorothy and Edward Sellers
My great uncle was John J Sellers and indeed he is buried in Wyoming and Find A Grave has a picture of his grave. Thank you for your help in finding the graves of Dorothy and Edward. I tried to contact the cemetery but seems there is no phone number. Gig Harbor Cemetery is also known as Crescent Valley Cemetery, as I'm sure you must know. It was my request that Jim Fargo is working on.

Gig Harbor Cemetery Plat Map
Kathy, That would work for me. I found it very interesting the info I found about John Jacob Sellers. He was the only boy among 6 sisters. Two sets of twins and on set of triplets. At one point they were known as the Black Hills twins and triplets. The different family trees have some great pictures of the family.
Thanks again for your help.

RE: John jacob Sellers Memorial # 70741091
Kathy,
Thanks for the quick reply. I think Dorothy Sellers probably moved back to Bremerton - Gig Harbor area after John died. Their 1st son Edward, did die in this area when he was almost 2. John and Dorothy also had a daughter and another son that lived in the Puget Sound area.

Would you be able to share you plat map of the Gig Harbor Cemetery. It would help when I go there the next time. I have 5 new tasks for the Haven of Rest Cemetery to do now.

Thanks for your help.

Teddie Stroope
I walked the cemetery and did not find his grave. I even went to the funeral home and they didn't have a record of him at all. After visiting his memorial on the Find A Grave site, I found what I believe to be the same blank marker that the funeral home puts at the gravesite. I feel sure that there is no headstone for Mr. Stroope.

John jacob Sellers Memorial # 70741091
Kathy,

You seem to be in my neighborhood. I live in Port Orchard, WA and I took a request to search for John Jacob Sellers Memorial# 70741091, his wife, Dorothy Roberts Paschall Sellers Memorial# 70741039 and their son Edward Paschall Sellers Memorial# 70741068 for Find A Grave. I went to the Gig Harbor Cemetery and could not locate any of the Sellers family. I went on Ancestry.com and found that John and Dorothy lived in Wyoming in 1940 and several family tree's have a headstone for him in Buffalo, Wyoming. The dates all seem correct. Another question. The Memorial's you created for them show Plot: Lot 3, Sec 4. Do you have a plat map or layout of the cemetery? My wife and I went to the Gig Harbor Cemetery, yesterday Jan 19, 2015 and could not figure out the groupings of how the cemetery is laid out. There are around 200 headstones that we were able to find. Would love to hear back.

Thanks, Jim Fargo (#48191904)

Regarding Sandstrom
Hi Kathy. Midge again. . Arvid Sandstrom is one of mine. Sorry to keep doing this to you, but he is my Hulda Sophia's brother. Would you mind transferring 74173315 over to me with all his family? That way I can fix the errors, and add the rest of his family.

You are so wonderful to keep doing this. Bless your heart. I took etchings about 20 years ago of the family that had died back then, but you taking the photographs and posting them online is so great. I do so love this modern technology, don't you?

Hugs for all you do for so many people.
