Bio Photo I have been the superintendent of the Cherryville Mountainview Cemetery in Hunterdon County, New Jersey since 1991. My Father was the superintendent from 1980 to 1991. I worked for him as a caretaker during that time. Our cemetery was opened in 1850. As of Dec. 12, 2010 the entire cemetery is listed here. If you are a family member or have more info for anyone buried here I'd be glad to add it or transfer the memorial to you if you are a descendant.

My families are: McCrea, Bunn, Porter, Welch and Schamp/Schomp

RE: Cherryville Cemetery

Thank you so much for the transfers. Her parents are Servis (Memorial# 39746283) and Ann Anderson Trimmer (Memorial# 39746274) buried in Nixon Cemetery. I will look at the internment list for Cherryville Cemetery and see if i can 'connect' any relatives. I will be sure to let you know. And remember feel free to let me know if you add any photo request for Hunterdon County, NJ/Bucks County, PA and i will try to fulfill them for you.

Thanks again,

Samuel Baldwin & Mariah Marshall Baldwin
Dear Bill:

Thanks for your kind words on Deborah Green Mason.

What a wonderful idea about documenting the people resting in Cherryville Cemetery! I'm excited about that. Although I now reside in Melbourne, Australia, I come from Hunterdon Co., and my people founded Quakertown (Franklin Twp.).

Do you have access to a transcript of the burials at Cherryville? I am looking for the burial location for a couple who lived in/near Franklin all their lives: Samuel Baldwin 1790-c1851 & Mariah Marshall Baldwin 1800-1887. Some of Mariah's sisters (Rebecca Marshall Case and Susan Marshall Thomas) were buried in Cherryville, so maybe I'll get lucky and find them there, too.

Perhaps my favourite burial in this cemetery is Mariah's brother, John T. Marshall, who owned the Dogtown Tavern for a short time, and his wife Charity McPherson Marshall. They had 11 sons!

Another mystery that I would like to solve is the whereabout of the father of all the siblings: William Furman Marshall, nicknamed Furman. His mother's name and his own burial location are unknown, and I cannot find more information on his father, Charles Marshall. I think he dropped out of the sky.

Thanks for checking these names for me, Bill. It's much appreciated.

Regards, Mary Jo

Wow! What a wonderful idea. I'm so happy to have inspired you and thank you so much for telling me. I'm just pulling out details and making them available, as I'm fascinated with the local area history as well. So many interesting people lived here and I want them to be known as well. Good for you Bill.

RE: Cherryville Cemetery
You were right about Christina Cook Fink. If you want the photograph of her obituary, I can certainly send it to you. I didn't link her to her parents, but I assume that you will take care of that detail. Cheers, Rhonda

RE: Lawshe's
Hi Bill:

Thanks for your vote of confidence. I am not related to the Lawshes. I live in Somerset Co. and have been working on adding pages for South Branch Reformed Cemetery. The Lawshe's daughter, Elsie Lawshe Carkhuff is buried there. I found the information on her parents and then searched for their obituaries in the Trenton Evening Times via I always have sources for any edits I request, most often obituaries. I do have access to printed resources through the Somerset Co. Historical Society and also use and for sources. I do not use family trees on for a source.
