Bio and Links
Bio Photo If you would like a transfer of a memorial I have please use the edit button. I will transfer any of those I do not have a relationship to, not in one of my families cemeteries (Ford, Nuttall, Karn and Barnhill), not connected in some way to my family lines (I have transferred some of these depending on the circumstances)

I mainly concentrate on two counties:

Daviess Co., Kentucky - My paternal lines first property purchase here was recorded in 1818. They came into Kentucky with Daniel Boone, several of my great-grandparents and cousins are on the memorial at Fort Boonesborough, to whom I am related to as a double 1st cousin. Daniel crossed my 6th great-grandfather's Ferry on the Potomac River in 1755 with George Washington (His papers contain my grandfather's name and the location of Watkins Ferry is recognized as a National Historical Landmark) and General Edward Braddock on the way to the battle of Fort Duquesne.
This side also includes my cousins Christopher Houston "Kit" Carson, Medal of Honor Recipient Brigadier General Thomas Cruse (A plaque was recently placed on the Daviess Co. Courthouse lawn dedicated to him after I contacted the Messenger-Inquirer) and Former Kentucky Governor & Senator Wendell Hampton Ford.

Crawford Co. Illinois - My maternal lines settled here in the early 1800's. Two of my great-grandfather's, Warner Ford and Robert Terrell, went into Illinois during the Revolutionary War with George Rogers Clark and received land grants out of what was awarded to Clark by Congress. Two of Robert's brother sit on the board that passed out those land grants and purchased several of those that individuals did not want. Records at the George Rogers Clark Memorial show they purchased over 15,000 acres. This side also includes my 11th great-grandfather Edward Doty . I designed and created the Crawford Co. Historical Society Website which is a culmination of the work of numerous researchers of Crawford Co., Illinois Families. I have administration rights to connect all memorials in Crawford Co. after individuals were found to have taken information from this website and my personal website to create numerous memorials in Crawford Co.

Throughout history genealogy scams have been pulled on various family lines and mine are no exception.

One is the Mercer line of my grandmother that was involved in the "Mercer Scam" perpetrated by P.P. Mast. Her grandfather was one of the owners of several shares in the Mercer Heirs Association. DNA testing and paper trails have confirmed some of my line but LDS, DAR records both have been tainted with false information (LDS & DAR records are only as good as the researchers that provided the information). A lot of government records have disappeared, taken by either the people pulling the scam or by individuals trying to prove a connection to the fortune P.P. Mast claimed was available.

My Boone line was found to have a individual listed in it that never existed. It has only been in recents years that new information has come to light, we always knew and found it strange that my specific line was the only one that had her unique first name in it. If she had been a Boone as others stated that name would certainly have been found in some of the other Boone lines which it was not. It would also have been in either Quaker records or records in England and it was not found in either one.

Another line is a line of a great-grandmother. Between family records that were given to me and other records I have been able to find I am still trying to determine the extent of the fraud in this line. If what I have been given and told is true this swindler's scam goes much deeper and involves LDS, DAR, SAR, falsified government records and fake headstones.

When I first started researching I also fell prey to these scams and believed them. You may trust someone but always verify for yourself the truth. I always research the stones I put on here and have determined what I think is the truth but you have to be the judge of that for yourself and do your own investigation.

The scams noted here remain in the above lines and on Ancestry trees today along with several other undocumented claims in other trees.

Everything stated here in my profile about my family connections has not only been verified by me but other individuals as well.

If you take my pictures off of FindAGrave give me credit as the owner. If I find them on another site without credit I will ask that they be removed.
