Am a retired plastics engineer living near Cleveland, OH. Am the primary researcher on the Rhodes/Rhoades/Rhoads/Roades families who originated in Bedford Co., PA. Three brothers came to Montgomery Co., OH (Dayton area) in 1810. Descendants moved west to Darke and Miami Co., OH and to Rush, Henry, Cass, Fulton Co., IN, and onward. Also the Frederick Osswald family. He immigrated to the Dayton area in 1854 with most of the families still in the area. I also do my late wife's (51 years Mason family who were primarily along the Ohio River, including Maysville, KY and Manchester, OH. Now I'm working on my new wife's line that is Hungarian and Italian.|

Oh - that George Rhodes. LOL, I actually sent the original info in 2009, but re-sent it when I was going thru some old SACs. That is why it didn't ring a bell in my memory. No, not related - I just do a lot of photographing in that cemetery, so if the grave is already added, I always try to send the Section information. Oh, BTW, there is a specific place to add in the Section # - if you look down the memorial you will see "Plot Info" with "edit plot" after it - that is where you add in the Section and lot info, rather than in the bio.

I am not sure which Sarah Rhodes you were referring to?

I have tried to send two emails to you at your posted email address but they keep bouncing back. This is reference to Sophia Hughes's Memorial at Woodland Cemetery, (#42547115) and her family, in particular her father, George Ryan (Memorial #13386341). Do you have an alternate current email address?

I am not sure it is still in existance, but it was near Little Richmond Road and Crawford in Section 20, Perry Twp. Good Luck
I do realize the correct spelling of the Gillespie surname since it's my name but Charles and Julia's stone has Gillaspie on it.

Hi Roger - that is interesting that those Rhodeses had Blair county roots. I've found a few families from that area that ended up in Akron, but not many. BTW, George and Sarah are buried in Sec. 26, if you'd like to add that under 'plot info'.

Ha, I have that same problem from time to time. We need bigger keypads.

Ha, I knew I'd seen the Rhoads name somewhere before ! No, this 5th cousin was Paul George Stomberger (1920-2003) that did a whale of family research back in the 60s & 70s. He published a book on it, called 'Family & Forefathers' (1974). But, the Paul Stomberger (1854-1944) to whom you refer was his Great-Uncle (his Grandfather's John Levit Stomberger's Brother), and he is in the book with an interesting story. I will have to scan the page & send it to you.
Not sure how this relates us...Paul George's Grandfather's Mother Christine (mother of Paul 1854) was the Sister of my direct ancestor, John Paul Prass (1831). Kind of a convoluted relationship, if it could be figured out. Anyway, a few months ago, I entered many of Paul George's family into Find-A-Grave based on his research. He was, in a large part, my mentor in all of this, as we began correspondence in 1973 that continued into the 80s.

Ahh ! Fantastic ! I've been working forward from research left by my 5th Cousin, the late Paul George Stomberger, on this particular branch of the John Prass family. Two of my 3xGrand Uncles (John & Andrew) are buried in Montgomery County, as is my 4xGreat Grandfather, Johann. Dayton & Brookville were their primary residences back in the 1850s and later.
In fact your reply led me to find another of the Wogoman children (Maude Helen, as she also married a Galbraith), who was buried in Florida.
Now only missing the Wogoman Children of Grace Rebecca (1895-1973, married Herbert Kline) and the child Edward Ira Wogoman (1887-1889)...Both presumably are buried in Montgomery Co.
Again, thanks for the help !
