*** About Sharing***|
My gravestone photos are for sharing! Please use them freely for your personal family research projects. However, if you add them to your online tree, please DO include a photo credit "Photo by Find A Grave volunteer Debi C." Proper photo credit further encourages the volunteerism which makes this awesome resource possible.
*** About Transfers ***
I generally follow the FG "four-generation DIRECT line" guideline for transferring memorials. So, if you'd like me to transfer to you, please share your line of descent when submitting your request. If you are NOT a direct descendant... well... let's chat and figure things out. I am always happy to update memorials under my care when I can verify the new information.
I still consider myself a Rhode Islander - where I grew up, lived, worked, and played for some 50 odd years - but as of July 2012, now call Gray Maine "home".
My own genealogy work began when my Dad died just two months before seeing the new millennium and hasn't stopped since. I continue to be engrossed in the study of family history and find cemeteries simply fascinating! Helping others realize their family history goals is just plain FUN, so I sometimes conduct limited research projects - just for fun! - on a volunteer basis.

Much appreciated Debi!!!

Would like Sarah transferred to me if possible.
She is my husband's grandmother. I would like to link her to her husband Dr. Pritham.
That was funny about gray Maine. Live in the south and never heard it described like that.

I spent a good while out there today but didn't see her. I'll call during the week and find out if she has a headstone, and ask them to leave markers for me to go back out!

I'm heading over to Montrose today and I will look around and see if I can find Helen. It's a smaller cemetery so I might have some luck. Otherwise, they are very helpful and will leave out markers for me if I call during the week and give them the name. If I can't find her today, I will try again next weekend.

I will copy what I was given and send it to you this weekend. The hand written date is Jan. 10/77. The obit was one that was given to my mother sometime ago and was handed to me today.
|Rodney_Irish||Evelyn M. Doughty #116068312|
Evelyn M. Doughty is a first cousin 2X removed of mine. I was recently given an obituary from a newspaper on Evelyn. I was wondering if you could tell me where you came up with her death date. I have a hand written date on the paper I have and it differs from what you posted. I was wondering if your post death date could be wrong or if what I have hand written on the paper is wrong?

Their death dates, places, and death ages are contained in "Vital Records from Town Reports of the Town of Cumberland, Maine, 1893-1960", Compiled by Thomas C. Bennett [available for purchase from Thomas Bennett, Director at Prince Memorial Library, Cumberland, Maine]. I started with that and verified with several sources of family trees and original copies of records on ancestry.com. I've found a few errors in copying in the book while I've used it extensively for my documentation of the cemetery on Chebeague Island but I've found that it is a good start when verified with other records. Hope this helps!
Thank you for making the additions to the Grant family memorials and for your dedication to Find A Grave! Suzanne

Not sure if you notice the fourth stone which had fallen. It is for Eva who was not listed, so I added her.
