I was born in 1947 in humorist Will Cuppy's hometown, Auburn, Indiana. Not knowing that Cuppy was from Auburn, I bought a paperback copy of his "The Decline and Fall of Practically Everybody" in 1966 at the campus bookstore at Indiana University, Bloomington. I thought it was terrific and mentioned it to a librarian in Auburn who told me that Cuppy was a local product. I started researching Cuppy's life in 1977, and later, his family history. His humor is a national treasure.|

|D. Montgomery||Mount Royal Cemetery photo|
Hello I am writing to request permission for use of the Mount Royal Cemetery entrance photo you have posted at this Montreal cemetery site. I have a relative Mary Margarite Crimmins (Find A Grave# 108910827) and her family buried there. I live far from Montreal and would appreciate use of your great photo as the cemetery photo for these memorials.
I would appreciate your help with this.
|Michael Wood||Memorial# 9597243|
I am the author of a website dedicated to the 16th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Civil War regiment at www.mkwe.com/home.htm. I am requesting your permission to use your photo of this gravesite on my website in honor of this 16th OVI soldier. Please let me know.
Thanks for the work you do in researching and publishing our ancestors' gravesites! It is greatly appreciated!
|Bill Davis||Calvin Fairbank's parents|
There are a dual entries for Calvin Fairbank's parents Chester and Betsy Fairbank. You have them buried in Angelica, New York in apparently unmarked graves, but another entry shows their marked graves in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar, New York.
|Eugene Glenn Stackhouse||Pastorius of Germantown|
There is no evidence that PAstorius is in the Germantown Meeting Burial Ground. There is no St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Germantown. There is a St. Michael's Lutheran Church.
|Wazocat||RE: Will Cuppy|
Hi, thanks for your message. I am an academic librarian and a historian, so you can imagine how much I enjoy Will Cuppy's works--he still makes me hoot with laughter even though I've read almost everything he's written many times. I hope you get it sorted out. Thank you for keeping things accurate on this wonderful website.

Dear Mr. Walter,
For some reason, Will Cuppy's grave is erroneously linked on the Findagrave.com website to a woman buried in Arkansas who was only 12 when he committed suicide in New York in 1949.
Her name is Bonnie Jean Perdue.
Birth: May 28, 1937
Death: Jun. 23, 1979
Wife of Ora Lee Perdue.
Will Cuppy (1884 - 1949)
Can you get this corrected?
(a lifelong Cuppy fan)

|Laurie Voss||Gene Stratton Porter site|
My name is Laurie Voss. I have a website where I photograph old cemeteries in Indiana and then index all of the photos for genealogy use. In using Find-A-Grave to locate cemeteries, (I also place photos on the site for others), I came across the Gene Stratton Porter gravesite. I was wondering if you would mind if I use your photos (with credit) for my site. Since those are the only stones there, it would be much faster and cheaper than driving there. If that is not ok, that is fine. I will get there eventually. You can check out my website at: www.indianacemeteries.org.
Thanks for your consideration.
Laurie R Voss
|Tom Cosper||Cosper Cemetary book|
The information about the Cosper Cemetary says there is a book on the Cemetary compiled by Ralph Campbell. Is there any way to get a copy of the book?

|Carroll Gantz||Gordon Buehrig photo|
Do you know the source or photographer of this photo, or do you know if it is in the Public Domain? I'd like to use the image in a book.
|Judy Cain Bowser||BOWSER, Ephriam Shenadoah|
Michael, I am attempting to locate the gravesite of Ephriam Shenadoah "Shan" BOWSER in the Auburn, DeKalb County, Indiana area. He was born in 1870 in Armstrong County, PA and died in the 1930's in Auburn, DeKalb Co. Perhaps, while doing your cemetery search, you might keep an eye out for his tombstone. Thanks!
