I am an eighty nine year old mother, grandmother, gr-grandmother, and recently a gr-gr-grandmother. On my 80th birthday my grandkids were ask to share what they remember about grandma. Because I realized they didn't know much about there ancestors, I decided to write down what I remembered of the stories that were told to me as I was growing up. That lead me to contact the Sequoia Genealogical Society.
Volunteers taught me how to find more than 100 years of local family history from the Tulare City Libraries Genealogical Collection.
One volunteer, a retired school teacher taught me, fourth grade style, how search the internet on the computed. That year my daughter and grand children gave me a computer for Christmas, and I was off and flying and now I added Find a Grave to my activities.

 | Hi Audrey! Hoping you are doing well! Busy here, but finding time to do lots of volunteer photos and grave mapping, and really enjoying it! I'm requesting transfers of management of lots of my relatives' sites here on Find a Grave. I know that you have lots of them, so if you ever get tired of managing them, or just want to transfer them, please let me know.......I would love to "take care of them"! Much love, Beth PS My parents are FINALLY coming up next weekend to visit the Hoffman graves in Gaston County. I also found my Martin forefathers in York County, SC, just a few miles away, so we will be visiting there as well! | | | SHARON MESSMER

 | Richard Hawkins Hi, Mrs. Hoffman, I am related through Richard Hawkins, your 7th great grandfather, as a grand-daughter also. Haven't figured the degree yet but through a son, John Hawkins who from looking at your information, must be the son of Richard and Grace Cutland. This one known son was John Joseph who I have seen records of being married to Mary Warner, the daughter of Speaker of the House of Burgess, Augustine Warner and wife Mary Towneley. Do you have information concerning this connection? I am desperately trying to get to the facts concerning this family and if it is a true connection to my Hawkins line. John and Mary's son, Augustine Hawkins was the father of Flora Hawkins who married Christopher Columbus Choate. If you can help me with information regarding this, I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you so much for your hard work especially with Find A Grave research. Is it all right if I use your research and photo of the Church and cemetery where Richard Hawkins is buried? | | | Audrey Babbitt
 | RE: Pictures Thank you very much for your response so quickly. | | | Audrey Babbitt
 | Photo Use May I use a copy of your photo of the then existing structures where 17 individuals were buried?
Thank you, Audrey | | | Valerie Taylor
 | RE: Re: Mabel Talvas Hi sweetheart
So good to hear from you, cousin. I am related to roger de Montgomery and Mabel Talves through firstly, my Lockyers from Branscombe, Devon, and through Newtons, and then Cromwells....most specifically Ralph de Cromwell V. There is an excellent family tree online I've been using to find out about all these Royals that go further back than I could have imagined. I'll be heading to England and France this summer to see some of Rogers properties, and his grave hopefully. There is a picture online of his tomb at Shrewsbury, and we will be staying near there for a week this summer.
Isn't this amazing? What a blessing this research has been for me.
I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm a school teacher. My dad is about your age. He would be your cousin as well. He and my mom are coming with my sister and I to England. It will be there first trip across the pond. I'm excited about seeing their faces when they see all of the things I've seen and have been telling them about for years.
Well should go hon...getting late. Talk to you soon, Valerie | | | Valerie Taylor
 | mabel talvas I noticed your message and flowers for Mabel Talvas on Find a Grave. She is my 30th great grandmother - so we must be related somehow if she is also your great grandmother. Would love to connect. Valerie Canadian | | | | [View all messages...] |
