Fallen Graver

Sadly, Karlynn Gustafson has passed away. Please consider visiting their Find a Grave memorial page and leaving some virtual flowers. Their enthusiasm for cemeteries and willingness to help future generations lives on through their contributions to Find a Grave.

Bio

With the invaluable help of Bob Wheeler, Sharon Daly, Gail Smith and Isabel Weigold I've been collecting photos from cemeteries which contain the gravestones and monuments of people having a connection to the families I'm researching: Maynard, Ashley, Bump, Green, and Johnson are some of those families, mostly from New England and New York, with connections to Sweden on my father's side of the family. I was so excited to learn I had posted the 7 millionth name to findagrave - that of my great-grandfather, August Gustafsson, in Sweden! Both sets of my paternal great-grandparents are buried in the same cemetery - hope you can go and visit.

Since I am currently living in Central Florida, I post what I can from cemeteries in my immediate area including: Socrum Cemetery, Griffin, Tiger Flowers, Lakeview and Roselawn, all in Lakeland; also, I'm adding mostly photos to pages of the American Legion Cemetery in Tampa, Florida.

I'm gradually setting up some virtual cemeteries, and hope you'll stop by and leave some flowers if and when you have the time.

(Oct. 4, 2006 - My father, Alf H. Gustafson died August 21st at the age of 90, and the day after we returned from his memorial service(s) in Connecticut I created a page for him at the State Veterans' Cemetery, Middletown, CT. He and my mother each have a page there now, and I'm so relieved knowing they are together again for eternity. Their pages are such a source of comfort for me, and I hope for other family members also - and virtual flowers will be so welcomed...thank you all.)

EVERY morning I drink coffee from a findagrave mug - I just realized it's no longer available in the findagrave catalog, so that probably makes it a collectible!

If you want me to respond to a message, please make sure you include the name of the cemetery, as well as the location, by which I mean the city/town and the state! Please be aware I have no personal info or contact with family members, except my own, of course!
