My mother, Corine Nyegaard (Farmerville, LA) began researching our family in the 1950's and I began helping her in 1973.|
I am so very thankful for all of you who take photos and share them with everyone! Photos validate research and give it visual reality.I believe in sharing all photos, so feel free to use them.
We feel blessed to live at Sunset Beach, Oahu.

|S Forrest||RE: Miller Edwards and Mary Anne Watters|
I was referring to the photos of Miller Bledsoe Edwards and Mary Anne Watters. Any additional information would be great - I would love to track down clearer scans. Thanks, Scott

Hi Ms. Carter,
I am a g-g-g-grandson of Miller Edwards and Mary Anne Watters. I was very happy to find the two photographs that you posted - do you have larger versions? Thanks, Scott

I see that you recorded a grave for Lida Kyle McKinnie (Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Linville, LA Union Parish, Louisiana).
You listed Lida Kyle McKinnie's spouses as being William Green Kyle 1882-1948 and John Blair McKinnie 1886-1958.
William Green Kyle is NOT Lida Kyle McKinnie's spouse; William Green Kyle is Lida Kyle McKinnie's BROTHER.
I know this because my father, Elmer Walter Wilson, Jr. (also buried in the same cemetery) was raised by Lida Kyle McKinnie and her ONLY spouse, John Blair McKinnie.

I noticed you left some virtual flowers on the find a grave website for my great grandfather, Henry Seng. I have been trying to find out any information for him for years.
Are you related?
Thanks so much,

No Nyegaard or Odom pictures, but I grew up next door to the great grandson of James Marion Odom Find A Grave ID# 8764110. James's father Pinckney is buried not far from my family in the Farmerville Cem.

|Timothy D. Hudson||RE: James W Aulds|
There were two men by the name of James W. Auld in Union Parish during this period: James Washington Auld and James Wyatt Auld. The two were first cousins, with James Washington Auld the son of Elijah Michael Auld, and James Wyatt Auld the son of Elijah's brother, James Alexander Auld. They used their middle names to distinguish them in court records. For example, Union Parish LA Conveyance Record Book O, p. 351 is a record in which Elijah M. Auld sells land to "James Washington Auld," and later deeds verify that this was his son. On the other hand, these records show that James W. Auld who was the son of James Alexander Auld & Elizabeth Hester was named "James Wyatt Auld:
Union Parish LA Succession Book K, pp. 85-87,279-286
Union Parish LA Succession Book G, pp. 287-301 and A-1, pp.48-50
In addition, on the 1870 census, James Wyatt Auld is listed as "Wyatt Auld," and the family is clearly that of the man who was James W. Auld and the son of James A. Auld.
So the man in question was indeed named "James Washington Auld."
Do you have a connection to the Auld family? Mine is through numerous intermarriages of my Ward family with the Aulds.

How are you doing? It's good to hear from you again. I am writing to tell you I don't think I ever received the message or question from Jane Rousseau, I was able to trace my Great Grandmother's lineage all the way back to the 1600's. If you would please contact Jane, I will try to answer any questions she may have.
|Daniel Basko||RE: Helen Carter|
No, she was married to William ASA Carter and had two boys and 4 girls. One boy died shortly after birth, the other, William Asa (Billy) was killed in WWII and one girl(Helen Anne) died from burns she received when her nightgown caught on fire while standing in front of the fire place at home when she was 4 years old. My mother and her two sisters was all that was left. I think Helen died in 1983 in Casper WYO.

I know some of the Kresin family. I worked with Richard H Kresin for over 35 years. Just seen him a few months ago. Been to Hawaii twice, loved it. First time in 1970, second in 2003, big change.
