Bio and Links
Bio Photo Since my husband passed away I have quite alot of time on my hands. My sister and I decided to do a family tree/scrapbook on our father and his siblings. They were taken away by the State and put at St. Vincent DePaul Orphange in Vincennes, Indiana. They were separated from their mother and father for 11 years but all found their way back home after turning of age. Their father had Epilepsy and was put in a home with others like him and since their mother had no income to speak of the State took them.

Doing the research has brought us in contact with lots of people, stories, family we never knew and pictures. Dad's tree is now done and now I am working on my mother's side. I enjoyed this and discovering history thruout my adventures so while I am out there I decided to be a volunteer and start taking pictures for others who can't be with their loved ones.

Davis Family
Looking for information on the Davis Family. I found your memorial for Alexander Ross in Jennings County. I have been to this cemetery. My gr-gr-grandparents were James A. Rees and Elizabeth Susannsh Davis Rees. Elizabeth the daughter of Willam J and Sarah Ross Davis. I had found Alexander Ross the father of Sarah but could never find the mother. I found records that indicated Alexander came from Cumberland County, PA. You have wife as Elizabeth Grinstead. Is this a second wife? I know there is a strong connection with the Grinstead Family and even into the 1920 and 1930's some of them came up to Boone County for a Rees Family Reunion. Also if Elizabeth was mother of Sarah, she would have been about 13 at time of birth, not unheard of but very young. This lead me to believe she might be second wife. The Rees family also married into the Grinstead, Susan Rees, sister of James A. married William W. Grinstead. They are also buried at Brush Creek. Ann Rees, another sister married Elijah Davis

Thanks for your extra effort in looking for Samuel and his son, Samuel. I really appreciate the trouble that you went to in order to try and find these headstones. I really appreciate the ones that you were able to find and photograph of the rest of the family.

Thanks so much for the picture of this memorial. It sounds like it was quite a challenge to find. I really appreciate the effort. I have to wonder if the rest of the family headstones will be even worse. Very sad that so many old headstones are in such disrepair.

Thanks again,
Lynne

I would like to thank you for posting the pics of the many family headstones I requested. I live in Texas and hope to make it home one day to be able to walk the grounds of the many cemeteries up there.
