My ancestors were instrumental in the settling of Matinicus Island, Maine, and the Rockland, Maine area. I am working on my genealogy and am interested in the cemeteries of Down East Maine. My husband and I also volunteer to take photos upon request. We are both dedicated to preserving the memorials that we photograph, making sure that they are shown in best light. We clear the area and make sure to photograph the entire stone and not just the dates. Many of these stones are falling into disrepair and we want a permanent record to honor the diseased. I am a volunteer for the Historical Society of Boothbay and am working to map and record the cemeteries which have been accepted by the town. |

|Richard Bragg||Thank You!|
I just want to say thank you for photographing my relatives! The Farris family in Wayside Cemetery and elsewhere!
Thank you again. I know how much time this takes me, so I relate to your effort.
|Carl Nord||Bernice Smith Maddocks|
Bernice was my great Aunt, I remember her as a child and visiting her and her house in Owls Head.
I have her parents and most other siblings on Find A Grave.
Her mother, Hattie Jane Beckett Smith is Find A Grave Memorial# 96892943
Her Father, Joel E Smith is Find A Grave Memorial# 96892493
I would be happy to take over management of her and Uncle Wins graves if you wish
Thanks for the great photos. The only time I got up there it was full of snow!

I noticed you are maintaining the memorial for John G Leeman, my third great grandfather. I wonder if you are possibly related, and/or have any information as to who his parents were. Ay info you might have would be appreciated. Thanks!
|cattycat||Captain Henry and Caroline Johnson|
I notice that Pictures of the tombstones of Captain Henry Johnson and his wife Caroline Johnson are not on find a grave. Is it possible to request a picture of those tombstones? I would be most appreciative.

I can't make out much on the stone. I am looking for Rachel Carter Elliot w/o Simon Elliot, born 12/20/1832. Is there any information you can make out that would confirm this is her?

The Ireland Cemetery has been really cleaned up since your photos for Joseph Annis & his wife were posted. I have added a photo of the two stones to illustrate the difference.
I would like to post all the cleaned up stones. Would you mind? If not, I will delete my photo for Joseph Annis and his wife.
