To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Unknown Burial Site Memorials as Unknown Burial Sites shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

RE: Duplicated grave photo
I posted the picture in Dec. 2013 and I see the other photo was posted a month later......not sure how or why you think I duplicated it.

RE: boone stuff
This cemetery had a fresh grave this year in it - it is in danger of being swallowed up by expansion as it is within a foot on 2 sides of streets - It is known by 3 names - but I just gave up - think I will open this back up and see what I can find out -

RE: boone stuff
I have been finding cemeteries that have been forgotten taking pics and with the help of the local library finding names for them -
One cemetery is suppose to be dormat when I went to take pics - brand new grave.
Called several funeral homes and nobody knows anything about it and person on record that is suppose to maintain it - doesn't exist very strange.

RE: boone stuff
That is odd - looks like they made up a cemetery?

I don't have a Boone in my database with that name either and I thought I had gotten all or most of them from the 1800s census records

I have several old documents too - Boone society put out a pamphlet size news letter of people searching and etc.
My great aunt and Dr Mayfield knew some of the Boones and are related via the Boone families and I trust what they documented and not the "new" researchers.

I live in Tx and most of my relatives lived in Ind and it is hard to relate what to do sometimes but I just was contacted by a researcher in Ind that is also an Ehrhart relative! She is going to help - I have a set of great grandparents we don't know what happened to them.

I gave up on trying to make sense of the "new" Boone research - I trust what was written at the times. LOL

Hello Linda.

I'm working on cleaning up my records, however, I wanted to point out that I'm not the only contributor posting this type of memorial.

Check out this one: 48165834

It was created in 2010.

I am a little confused about this memorial. I thought that I was asked if I would like the grave photo. Did I misunderstand?
I do wish that you had contacted me privately before you discussed memorials that I had posted or that Helen Kennedy had posted on your public site.
Most volunteers are happy to share. Certainly we have been. I am not one who takes obituaries out of newspapers or makes memorials from cemetery lists and then waits for others to finish the memorial. All of our memorials are family members. If you would like to talk about the situation, I am easy to locate and easy to talk to. My email is josienr@comcast.net.
Thank you for your time. Jo Roberts 47188400

RE: boone stuff
Wow - I just read that on Josiah Boone's memorial - that is terrible
Put the facts and leave the gossip out of it

By the way I purchased the PDF of the book - called the Boone Society to find out why no references where in it and I was told that was private information. I told them that's why I bought the book to see where they got their information - they tried to tell me genealogy books don't tell their sources???
I asked for my money back and destroyed the PDF file as not true

Very strange people out to grab fame and fortune

RE: boone stuff
My great Aunt and my mother both had Jeremiah Boone and Josiah Boone and James Neville - think there was another one, but it has escaped me.
When I went to join I just copied their papers and they told me I had to prove everything all over again.
I got Jeremiah done and they wanted it for each and to pay another big fee and thought why bother I belong and I don't need all the hassle just to prove the others.
I had been in CAR also and thought why prove it at all I have been in the organization all my life - LOL

I think the other was a David Cox

I don't even go to meetings anymore and haven't for years. My mother was a regent in Ind - Wanda Wilking Ehrhart - she loved it. My great Aunt Mary McGee lived in NC and belonged to several orgaizations and her husband to SAR - they loved all the pomp - he was a Col that taught at the Citadel - Arthur McGee

Now days we don't have very many stand up people - too bad too
