Thank you so much for the information on kathy Smallwood. I am her sister and want to inform you that Kathy was cremated and her ashes are buried with our mother at Brookside Cemetery, Ollie Mae Smallwood, McCoy, Diese. We have no foot stone as of yet but do plan on getting one. Kathy wanted to be buried with Mom and we fulfilled her wishes.

Florida's parents were William Daniel Johnson & Martha Mary Ann Hale.
I am very familiar with the Rhodes family, and in fact have a Great Aunt who was one of the Williamson sisters. My aunt's sister Stella Jewell Williamson, the 1st wife of Emmett Edgar Rhodes.
It will be easier if we communicate via email and I will more than happy to help you in any way I can. My address: firstname.lastname@example.org or you can call me at (727) 204-9743
I'm retired, so call anytime. I'm on the Board of the Tallahassee Historical Society and spend my time doing research on Tallahassee history.
Look forward to hearing from you.

I recently sent in an edit request for Florida E. Johnson (Find A Grave Memorial# 5523004)asking to remove Hale from her name. My request was denied stating (General reason: Not accurate - Their data conflicts with my data.)
I am a 7th generation Leon County, FL native.
Let me explain; 1st, Florida is my 1st cousin 4x removed, her mother Martha Mary Ann Hale is my 4th great aunt. Martha M.A. Hale married William Daniel Johnson, so this (in Florida's case) is one of those unusual cases where a maiden name is the same as a married name.
Her Leon County, FL marriage license application #1879 (listed in Book A, Page 71) lists her name as Florida E. Johnson. I have seen this document on microfiche at the Florida State Archives here in Tallahassee.
The 1860 and 1870 US Census lists her name as Florida E. Johnson; nowhere can I find or locate any record indicating her name included the name Hale.
Do you have any proof of which I am not aware, indicating her name as Elizabeth E. Hale Johnson?
Thank you so much!

Hi Ann - Thanks for the connection. I do not have data on his mother. Marriage record shows she was a Lou Starling. She is not on the 1910 census. I have not found her as a child or any other record.
