I love genealogy. My husband and I traveled to find the gravesites of our relatives and were so thrilled when we found them. We took pictures and made memorial pages for our family albums so when I found Find A Grave I was happy to be able to add them for future family researchers. What a great idea! I hope I can help someone else find who they are looking for. Credit FAG, it is a wonderful site.

RE: re; DAR
They give you about 1000 3rd, 4th or 5th cousins that you can contact without giving out emails or having to remember email addresses. I had about 5 or so African American cousins that probably can never really pin down where the match is.23andme used to give out health info, so I still have what they gave me. Then people used the information to go to their doctors and get tests, which cost the insurance companies money, so they say that united health care (I think it was) went to the FDA and said this should be a medical device and they should not be allowed to do this, so now only the people who have what info they have still have that amount of info.23andme does not have direct trees like ancestry.com DNA does. Ancestry.com also gave me DNA circles that show groups of cousins that are related to the same ancestor. It costs about $99 plus about $25 for shipping the test.donna

RE: re; DAR
I did 23andme and just recently did ancestry.com DNA and on gedmatch. I like the ancestry.com DNA esp. because they show you where your cousin match up is on each of your trees (assuming both have detailed trees) and what level of cousin you are to each other. donna

re; DAR
ok, I do see the DAR when you click on her name..probably Alexander White Sr. You can probably follow back to him in the tree work I have done. donna

RE: re: john bartholomew
what I am doing is descendants of Peregrine White of the Mayflower...sometimes I get off track, but if I remember right she goes through Babbitts to get to Silas Babbitt and Elizabeth White and through the Whites up to Peregrine White. The map is interesting..I don't really see the DAR part though..but it is possible..the mayflower society says the Y DNA of the male White descendants is all different when it should be the same and they say every 6th child is raised by a father that is not their DNA father, so every 6 people in your family tree, the tree can take a U-turn..I can only confirm up to Alexander White Sr. by DNA cousins. donna

RE: re: john bartholomew
regarding his wife...you didn't see a stone for her next to him, did you? I don't see her listed in that cemetery. Anyway, I think what happened is she died before him, then he maybe moved to another state is what I am guessing. donna

RE: re: john bartholomew
No I didn't see a note. I wondered about that posting also...so I put in a request for a photo for her. I messaged the owner and no reply about why she is buried in another state. Seems odd...not impossible, but odd.donna
