I have been working on my family history for over forty years. I consider Findagrave an important research tool. Unlike some others, I do post genealogical information on my memorials. Budding genealogists appreciate any help they can get. I am a native south Georgian.
Christian Dasher You are so welcome and thanks so much for letting me know. I must have been very tired when I did that. Usually I notice the unfamiliarities. I spent all night researching and found there are three Christian Dashers and everyone has the three families mixed up and it is a huge mess on Ancestry. One person had Christian's wife married to her self. Thanks again Francine, I greatly appreciate the information.
RE: Dickey Church Wow! what a nice reply. Pam's grandma, Eva Clair was a really close cousin. Her mother and father, were like grandparents to my sister and me and when growing up, we used to spend part of the summer with them in Dickey. I recall one of Jay Arnold's daughters wrote a paper on Dickey as a college project and it was full of information I did not know. Maybe that could be the basis of an article like you want. Our Aunt Bessie Plowden Wilson had a relative on her husbands side, Luther Wilson, a Presbyterian Minister who is buried at the Old Dickey Church. She had a daughter Becky and son Don. At one time Becky had the diary of Luther Wilson covering his trip from India with his missionary parents to the US for school, including Princeton and then his life as a Chaplin in the Confederate Army on the battlefields and his walk from VA to Dickey after that war was over. My wife hand copied the whole diary and we had that in our family for a while, but loaned it out several times. It has disappeared and we have no idea where the original is. Both Becky and Don are dead. That diary would make a movie, with Dickey the center of it, if it could be found. Thank you for your interest and please keep up that good work.
Thank you Thank you so much for your work and please thank Brenda A. Darbyshire if you have contact with her since she no longer has a contact site. This is especially for the work you two did at the Old Dickey Presbyterian Church in Calhoun County, GA.
RE: Noah Webster Griffin Definitely do not delete your memorial. It is one of those odd cases where a person has two markers. There is probably a story about why there is another marker for him that might come to light one of these days. A note about it is all that is necessary.
RE: Church across from cemetery Thank you for the info. I was hoping to stop by get a some pictures of the church for my mom to see. But she passed away on Dec. 20, they day I left Indiana to come and see her down in Florida.

Church across from cemetery I was wondering if you can provide me with address to the church across from Mount Zion Cemetery. My mom used to go to that church when she grew up in Valdosta. Would like to stop by there on my way to Fl to snap some pictures for her.
