Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm an avid photographer/archivest, having taken the majority of both my and my husband's family's graves. We take (outdoor) cemetery photos from March/April to November or December/snowfall within an hour or so in all directions of N'east Wisconsin, incl: Outagamie; Winnebago; Calumet; Manitowoc; Sheboygan to the East; and in the West: Waushara, and some of Portage, if we're in that area. Mausoleum photos, of course, can be taken all year.

NOTE to those requesting grave photos in Wisconsin: Although each year is different, we don't usually see any ground-level graves until at least April, given the weather in our area. Thanks for understanding!

Here's a poem that touches my heart. It is the reason we are in this service; for both the living and those who have gone on before us.

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN

Today we walked where others walked On a lonely, windswept hill; Today we talked where other cried For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched By graves of tiny babies; Snatched from the arms of loving kin, In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay In the last sleep of their time; Lying under the trees and clouds - Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot; Who lies beneath this hollowed ground? Was it a babe, child, young or old? No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay. We had been here once before On a day we'd all like to forget, But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin The graves of ancestors past; To be preserved for generations hence, A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend, For stones sometimes crumble to dust And generations of folks yet to come Will be grateful for your trust.

RE: Dan Gagen Family
What we have on Dan Gagen and his family was provided to us in 2006 by Ed Gilman. He was either a relative or researcher of Dan Gagen and was helping us with information for our Cemetery Walk that year titled "If Tombstones could Talk". He did mention a son John born in Iron River, MI and that the son was named after John's father John. The other two boys were born in our area here. Other than that was all we could gather.

John Mann - Lakeside, Calumet
Thanks for getting the photo. When I saw the inscription had his Civil War unit - I thought he had a VA stone at Lakeside.

Believe it or not, he has a VA stone - in another cemetery!

Just one more mystery to solve...thanks again.

RE: Anna Charnesky
You have Charnesky....the earlier memorial has correct spelling of Charnetsky (with a T in there). Same with Frank

RE: Emma Austin
Not sure if you got an email from me but I will also post this way. I stated on the photo and in the email that I did not find any other markers with her name on it. My husband and I poked around the whole area of the big marker to see if there happened to be a marker that had been over grown but we were unable to find anything. I have added on the memorial that as of today's date there has been no marker found with her name on it.
