I first discovered this site in 2005. It had just recently opened up to 'Non-famous' graves, and like many others I saw the possibilities.
It has become a wonderful site, serving the needs of both gravers and genealogists (and, yes, I know it is primarily a grave registration site!).
I particularly pay tribute to the dedicated and hard-working volunteers who fill grave photo requests.

Gregg Cemetery
I've come across and article written in 1958 by a man who explored this cemetery and transcribed some stones he uncovered. There's at least one name, and some details, not on Find A Grave. Would you like a copy of the article? If so, please send a message to me and I'll see that you get the info.

Find a Grave # 45607165

On Brown Smith's memorial page, you mention his wife's (Patty Donaldson Smith) diary. Was it published? Is it in an archive or family collection?

I am writing for a researcher who is interested in seeing a copy of her diary. If it wasn't published, is it possible to get a scanned copy?

Thank you for your time,

David Blakely #77216869
David Blakely is my g-g-grandfather. I'm relatively new to Find a Grave and had never done a memorial for him. I was so pleased to find that you had done so. I would like to have this memorial transferred to me for management. I'd like to add a bio. My find a grave user name is dbelle. I have great admiration for you younger people who have the kind of energy it takes to do many, many memorials. Donna

Thank you for the edit on Harold Donaldson. I was in the cemetery recently to grab a few photo requests and noticed some Donaldsons that didn't have a memorials. I also added Erma and Ethel all at Heavenly Rest. I would love to transfer all to you if you are interested.

This boy was the son of Daniel Belden/Belding and #51701640 and Elizabeth Foote Belden/Belding #75877234...Not Samuel and Mary as you have listed. He and his mother Elizabeth were killed by Indians.

Margaret and Archie Griffin
I believe that Margaret's maiden name was Thombs, not Thomas. There's a NC death certificate for Margerette Elizabeth Griffin, who died 7/8/1929 in Union Co. NC. Her father's name looks more like Thombs on the cert.

The confusion might be because Margaret and Archie had a daughter who married a Thomas. Ada Lou Griffin married Jonah W. Thomas. See Find A Grave Memorial# 49431987

Thank you for the hyperlink text input
Thank you so much for the instructions to insert a hyperlink within a memorial text. I tried it on both memorials for my late uncle Harlow Blessing. Now both memorials are cross referenced to each other. Although he has 2 memorial stones in different cemeteries, he was actually buried near the military hospital in Key West, FL, during the Civil War.

Wife of George Pemberton
Dear GWC,
I am a descendant of George Pemberton and I'm having difficulty confirming the name of his wife. His find-a-grave memorial #81789148 states he was the wife of Mary Coate, but from what I can determine, his daughter (my 4x great grandmother) was born 19 years before the documented marriage date (1899) of a George Pemberton to a Mary Coate. I found one reference to an earlier marriage to a Mary Lyon - timeline more appropriate to the birth of his daughter. Do you know where the description of his memorial originated as I would very much like to get in touch with the person who wrote it. Thank you sincerely - Cynthia Schaeffer
