I am a professional photographer and genealogist (over 50 years), and long time historian of Coleman County, Texas (over 40 years). Over 20 years ago, I, along with my wife, Judia, and Vena Bob Gates, published all of the marked grave inscriptions in Coleman County, Texas in the 3 volume, "Coleman County Cemetery Inscriptions." I also have these records online at www.colemanhistory.com.
Judia and I both continue to visit cemeteries, but I do all the computer work. Judia is an artist and does not relate to computers ... she is soooo lucky!
I have welcomed FindAGrave to help carry on what myself, my wife and others are doing to keep local history information available and not forgotten. I began in the middle of March 2011 adding burials that have not been added for Coleman County.
I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in the cemeteries and history of Coleman County. Ralph Terry, Coleman, Texas.
PITTARD, Knox Ralph, Re George Knox, I'm convinced that even though his true, given name is George, no one looking for him would think of searching it that way. Just wanted to let you know why I plan to decline your SAC. Now, depending on how his memorial marker reads, I may change it. Thanks for your diligence. Mike
Lena Mae Williams/Glen Cove Cemetery Would appreciate an update to be entered on Lena Mae Williams Findagrave page with the following info. Lena Mae also has a marker at Shiloh Cemeterey, Hunt Coiunty, Texas. Just a date of death is on the one at Shiloh. She is actually buried at Glen Cove. Thank you so much for any assistance on this matter. Nancy Harris
Levi Jackson Gossett 41533542 Ralph, Levi was my 3rd Great Uncle and I would like permission to post his picture on my Ancestry family tree. Thanks so much in advance, and thank you for all you do for Find A Grave. Karylyn
Ezekiel D. Frazier Ralph, thank to you and your wife for all the work you are doing. I'm new to Find A Grave and I enjoy doing what I can do to help others with their research. Ezekiel D. Frazier, who had a stone in New Hope Cemetery in Lincoln County Missouri was my great great grandfather. Would you mind transferring him to me? Interestingly, he actually died here in the Texas panhandle, but his wife had died in Missouri before he came out here and his family in Missouri added his info in that cemetery. If memory serves, I believe it is on the back of her stone. I have a letter from his grandaughter to the family in Missouri telling them about his death and the funeral and that they buried him in the local cemetery. Unfortunately, there is no marker for him there. He was a civil war veteran and a group that is working to honor them contacted us about the location of his grave in McLean, TX. Most likely it is near his daughter who died a couple of years before he did. Thanks again! Jennifer Haynes Evans
re: Sharon Alexander Thank you for the great pictures for this memorial. I am trying to figure out the reason or relationship between Sharon Alexander and Lorena Jean Stovall. Very pretty tombstomb but don't understand it. Thx again Janet.
