Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a retired chemical engineer living in the Houston area, though my wife and I grew up in Austin, Texas. We are researching the branches of our family that spread from Central Texas to East Texas, over to Alabama, Georgia, and all the way up to Ohio. We have found this site to be extremely helpful to us, and we hope that we will add information that will be of help to others.

We have been searching Texas and Ohio cemeteries for Cox, Whitt, Koos, Blower, Stewart, Davis, Cherry, Ely, Hubbard, Zimmer, Miller, Watson, Cross, Hurley, Locke, and Braly, but in the process of looking for our relatives, we have been taking additional photographs, especially in cemeteries where not many photos are available. YOU MAY USE ANY OF OUR HEADSTONE PHOTOS without asking our permission; however, we would appreciate receiving credit for our photo.

If we manage a memorial for your relative, and it is not someone related to us, we will be more than happy to transfer the management to you. Unlike some contributors, we usually do transfer non-direct relatives such as cousins, aunts and uncles.

Great you found the other half to her ok the Old Zion and the New Zion cemetery is right acroos the road at a road intersection but the church is at the New Zion section.
As I said if you looking for any others then just holler and I will see if I have any stone photo's and you don't have to put in a photo request either.

I was wondering about the Ross name I figured he was a son of her's and seen no memorial's was made for them but figured you would catch on to make them .
I was just riding my motorcycle that day about 100 miles from home and saw the 2 cemetery's the Old Zion & the New Zion and thought maybe someone is looking for someone from here well it was hot but found all in the New Zion and only 1 in the Old Zion cemetery.
I will look and see what else you need photo's of I did take a lot more photo's from the New Zion cemeterys that was related to the request's so just let me know if you are missing any and I will look and see if I have any of them and add the photo's to them if they have a memorial already.

I just sent it for your personal family records, I didn't know you were adding it here and I really don't need to be mentioned in the bio or receive credit in any way. I definitely appreciate the gesture, but if you would remove my name from her bio that would be great, thanks! :)

Source for place of birth: her obituary published November 5, 1982 in the Southern Illinoisan newspaper, page 16. I believe you will also find it on her death certificate. Hope this helps.

Thanks, but I've had that for a couple of years. I was very excited when I got it. The only trouble is that Sarah (as Jane) is on the 1910 census with "Allick" and Mertie. She used Jane in 1900 also.

I just don't understand why they didn't register her death (between 1910 and 1919 when Alex died.)

I have checked with Athens County and the library. They suggested I contact Morgan County because they lived very close. Have to do that by mail.

I have tried spelling her name every which way on the Ohio death index.

Alex is only on an obit and no marked graves for either he or Mertie. They were poorer than church mice. LaVonne

RE: Dorothy Weeks & Estell Kulakowski
I was provided a couple of photos by another family member and simply did the research to find out where to place them. Dorothy and Estell are not close family. Thanks for the offer but the transfer really is not necessary.

Best regards,

John Franklin Chadwell
I saw a lot of info for him on his post. Are you related? I have a photo that might be him. I know it is of "John Chadwell" and "Newton Fulton". The reason I think it is him is that the photo is of teens/young adults, probably taken around 1860's-70's. My great-great grandmother Lydia Johnson, put their names on the photo. She lived in Nelsonville, Athens, Ohio and John Franklin Chadwell's father is buried in the same small area of Athens County as my family (Nye Cemetery). Your info says that John Franklin Chadwell's motehr was Martha Ann Fulton. Her last name Fulton is the same last name as "Newton Fulton" in the picture. I am trying to go through her old photo albums and 1.) connect them to ancestors on the internet so that others can enjoy them and 2.) find any connections to my family (why did she have their photos?). If you are an ancestor, please let me know if you can help/want a pdf of the photo/etc. If I have a definite link, I try to post the pictures on their grave site for all to enjoy, but I don't feel confident enough yet.
