Born 1964 in Beckley, WV. Grew up in Kopperston and Oceana, WV. Enlisted in the Air Force in 1982 and was stationed in Michigan, Texas and California. Moved back to Oceana, WV, in 2008 when I retired from the Air Force after serving 26 years.|
Have a genealogy/history web site for Wyoming County, WV, and I maintain the Oceana High School Alumni web site (www.ohsalumni.com) which has numerous obits of past students/teachers.

Jim, Thanks so much for the photo requests you have been fulfilling for me, I truly appreciate it.
Let me say I like your style of pictures as well, "up close and personal". I like to be able to read the names and dates on the headstones.
So many times people take pictures from a distance and it's hard to read without having to zoom in. I take pictures the same way you do, and usually take one of the full headstone then one of each name. It's more of an honor to them on their memorial, I think.
I was just in WVA on Saturday for my dad's bridge dedication in Beckley, but I wasn't able to do any cemetery hopping this time. Hopefully I'll get back down there before wintertime.
