Bio and Links
Bio Photo Please feel free to use any of the headstone pictures that we have credit is necessary. A recently read quote states, "It is amazing how much people can get done if they do not worry about who gets the credit." There is so much work to be done and so few doing the work. So, with that in mind...Let's get it done!

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Sorry, I didn't see the marker with the date on it until after I declined your change. I have made the appropriate edit.

Thank you,

Mount Moriah Photo Request
You might consider contacting the cemetery to obtain the grave block and lot numbers. The cemetery is huge and there are over 100 photo requests...too many for the volunteers to research. You can send them to me on Find a Grave or update the memorial if you are the manager.

Garret van Swearingen
Also he was NOT the son of David. See p. 13 at the link that his son Garret was born in 1648, too young to be the Garret of North America. Garret of North America was the son of Henrick van Sweringen. See page pp. 5-6.
