First of all, an explanation of my user name in FindaGrave. I have documented nearly every grave in my county and one day a police officer asked me why he keeps seeing me among the graves in our biggest graveyard. I explained to him what I was doing and he joked that he thought I was a "graverobber". That is how I got my user name. |
I've been doing genealogy work for my Harrison, Stubblefield, Ford, Ames, Hill and Record lines (my grandparents) for over 30 years. I discovered Find a Grave during the fall of 2010 and it validated so much of my data, while also pointing out a number of errors if I used the dates on the tombstones.
I appreciate the fact that I'd only have access to this information if others contribute to Find A Grave. This led me to start photographing my local cemeteries and those in other cities (including many foreign cities) when I travel for my job.
Thank you to everyone for your contributions and I hope you find mine useful as well!

|S PRICE Nance||Lucian Edgar Fowler|
Lucian Fowler is buried in the Jasper Cemetery. This memorial was submitted from official Jasper Cemetery records. I have located his headstone and submitted to the memorial. tThe double headstone with his wife in the other cemetery did not have any dates as she died in 1945 and he in 1971, and was buried in the Jasper Cemetery.

I wonder if you can tell me more about Marie.
I searching Marie Eriksen (Malde) born April 2,1879 in Stavanger Norway.
In 1940 Census, she's living in Detroit MI.
She was married to my great grandfather Christian H. Eriksen.

Dear Grave Robber I see that you have a ton of memorials on Find a Grave and was wondering if you have ever come across a head stone for Emily Alice Thompson. She was born 1864, Nov.28 and died 1899 Oct.9. My cousin Dana Work Kingsboro already has a memorial for her but we don't have a picture of her headstone. We have a huge FB page of some of our relatives of the Samuel F. (Sonnie) Thompson family and a lot of info on there. We just want a picture of her headstone to make it complete. If you could find one it would be very appreciated. We believe she is in the Bethel Cemetery.

I've uploaded picture with wife's DOD. Could you please remove yours.

I know exactly what you mean Mr Robber! When I try to find relatives, I so want to tell someone to remove theirs but, sometimes you just get the wrong person to say it to, even if you are tactful! I've been out of town, thus the reason for such a delayed response. LOL, I thought there was an Upper and Lower Yellow Creek... I hope you had a great Father's Day, if you are indeed a father. My sisters and I lost ours in 2007.
Keep up the great work!

Mr Robber sir,
I have deleted the Memorial I created for Josephene W Grant at your request as a duplicated Memorial. I also thank you for bringing it to my attention... please let me know if there are others. I believe this one (and perhaps others for Yellow Creek) happened because of the duplicated Cemetery.... I thought there were two separate cemeteries. When it did not show up at Lower Yellow Creek, well, a girl can make an honest mistake, right?? LOL! Really, I Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I do not want to create more confusion for those of us searching for family.
Thanks also for paying it forward when you volunteer!! God Bless,
|Anonymous||Sgt. Lester F. Hughes|
Lester Hughes (his mother was Ida Henry Hughes, whose family was one of the pioneer families of Davis, WV) was born and raised in WV, but was drafted into the military during World War I from PA. He was killed 10/31/1918 in France at the Battle of the Argonne Forest and buried there. Years later at the invitation of the U.S. Govt., his mother made the "Mothers' and Widows' Pilgrimage" to France at the expense of the government to visit the grave where her son was buried, and family records state that when she returned, she was more at peace than she had ever been before her journey. I saw that you have a virtual cemetery for World War I veterans, and thought you might want to add Lester Hughes to your virtual cemetery. His Memorial # is 55959973.
Thanks - Gail Henry.

Thank you for all the edit approvals on your memorial pages for the Henry Family, and your quick response. It represents a big investment of my time and effort in digging out the facts, and I may have some more edits in the future. Thank you for all your work in this part of the country.
