5th-generation Oregon Trail pioneer, Mayflower descendent, 30-year genealogist; 40-year champion dog breeder; 12-year BC survivor. Wife, Mother, Granny of 4. |
Continuing research on Cooley, Doyle, Fitzhugh, Loomis, Moore, Sargent, Matney, Mayben, and related families.
I mainly list memorials for those I'm related to, with the exception of some local pioneer cemeteries. If I've listed a member of your family and I'm not related to them, I'll gladly transfer them to your care. In return, I appreciate fairplay from others who may have listed some of my family. IMO, there's no room for egos or the genealogy police who feel they have to keep the rest of us all in order. I don't care about the "primary" or "secondary" purposes of this site. The obvious usefulness is to people who are trying to find their relatives and piece their family stories together. You may use "any" of my photos. They're not copyrighted (they're just gravestones, after all), but a wee bit of credit would be appreciated if you take them off site and publish them elsewhere. Thank you, good luck, and happy hunting!

Hi, Thank you for creating this memorial and for all the work you do for find-a-grave. Frank is a cousin of mine. Are you related to him? If not, would you please consider transferring him to me? If he is your relative, could you please add some more info. Thank you very much. Mary Schumann # 47147114
His full name was Francis "Frank" Eldred Smith Jr.

Wife: Cora Eliza Hunter Smith # 28909072

Died: Feb 7, 1951 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo, Michigan
Frank and Cora married on Jan 1, 1894 in Maryville, Nodaway, Missouri. They had three children: Minnie, Floyd, and Cora.
Kudos to you! I totally agree with your bio about the genealogy police and unnecessary egos in family research. I believe "it's all about family". I've copied a photo from Clarence Henry McCubbins Memorial# 26703078 for use in my family tree, courtesy of you!
God bless you for all your contributions :)

I have to know your contact no at Find a Grave.
|Mr. M. Jones||Hello|
Just a quick note to tell you I like your Bio, and completely agree with you.
This site has been a great tool to unlock many mysteries with my past, and confirm information found in other genealogy sites. It saddens me though that some contributors feel it necessary to hoard and or control memorials that could otherwise be updated with critical information and links that could help others find their lost friends and family members.
Good luck with your discoveries!

I didn't create the 2 memorials and can't delete one of them but have put in a request to Find A Grave to delete one. The creator passed away. I like your bio, and I agree with you.
|Kate DeMers||Martha Ann Hash Henderson Spohn Wills|
I believe entry 77745975 and entry 71485754 are the same person, as I have worked on this family. I didn't posted any of these memorials. But just thought I'd bring it to both parties with these entry's to combine the two.Thanks
Thank you for so promptly transferring the memorial for Sarah Moss to me.
|Jeanie Aguirre||RE: Matney|
Hi--I tried again to see if I could find a stone for Thomas Matney and had no luck. I called the lady who takes care of the cemetery and she did not have a record of him, but said there were several graves in the area of the Matney's that were unknown and it could be that he is buried there, but no stone. Sorry I couldn't find it for you. It is a lovely old cemetery and very peaceful....Jeanie Aguirre
