I have been researching my family tree since the early 1990's. My pioneer German relatives originated in Pennsylvania. My grandparents and other family members moved to California after 1918. Our family moved frequently with our fathers job and our relatives are scattered between Canada, California, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
My husband's pioneer relatives immigrated from Germany to Kansas in the mid 1800's. They landed in the Mississippi delta and took a steam boat to St. Louis. From there they traveled to northeast Kansas. Primarily farmers, the community consisted of hard working families, living off the soil. Every Memorial Day we visit the graves of my husbands family in rural Kansas. When I began to see all the headstones with family names of people I had heard of, I thought about how I have never seen the headstones for my side of the family. The cemeteries where my husband families reside are located in small, remote, rural areas. I took pictures of all the headstones I could find with family names and then researched the connections on Ancestry.com.
I am still looking for pictures of my relatives headstones. Although I am unable to travel to their grave sites, it is my hope that there are people close to my relatives cemeteries with the same curiosity I have found.
Through FindAGrave.com I have been able to get some pictures of my families grave sites. Thank you and I hope I can return the favor. | |

 | RE: Robert Derflinger No, not a problem at all. Unfortunately they will only talk to me so much about him because I am not blood, so you can always call there and inquire more about it. Should a marker ever come to be, let me know, and I'd be happy to photograph it at that time. Take care... | | | Leslie Pirl-Roth

I have a family relation buried there and would dearly love to get a photo on her grave. I have had a photo request posted, but no response as yet. Hope to hear back from you, Karen Potts | | | J F-B
 | Davis Family Thank you so much for the photographs of the several Davis family gravestones and the family plot marker. And special thanks for letting me know you added them. | Hagameier Got it in, won't always be this fast, had time today. Look it over and see if okay, or if any changes need to be made. I had that book of Bluestem, gave it to my sister who managed to loose it. It is very good, I can look at it at library, didn't get another one.Added by Marie on Dec 26, 2010 10:53 AM | | | Marie
 | Transfer Think can work it out some way, actually you can put pictures and notes on that side where cemetary pic etc are, several have done that on mine--I don't mind long as they keep it noncluttered. If there is a date I need, I might put on my side, no problem, so it gets repeated, what the heck! It may get repeated anyway with the information on top and repeat in obits on bottom side (left) Do I make sence? Probaly not! Talk later. Have good day MarieAdded by Marie on Dec 25, 2010 10:41 AM | | | | [View all messages...] |
