I have been doing genealogy on my family since I was 24 years old...I am soon to turn 66. That is a lot of research in Town Halls and cemeteries!|
Family history is addictive to me and now with computers, there is even more to learn, as people are updating info daily. I hope I can in some way add to the family history by adding Biographies to my ancestors on, "Find a Grave". We all should have our story told.
On the sites I manage, I will be quite accurate and even list medical information that future generations might need to know.
The Biographies will not be sugar coated, they will be as they were lived.
Life is full of bumps in the road that make us who we are. Ideally, we should live the way we want to be remembered...alas that is not our human nature. We all make mistakes.

I don't recall seeing Arzelia's headstone but only because I wasn't looking for it. I'll look next time I'm in the vicinity, which may be in a couple weeks.
Valentine is already connected to his parents. So I don't understand your issue. If you look at his memorial you will see he is connected to Lynde and Polly as his parents.

Have you ever discovered who Lydia Booth's parents were? I am at a brick wall. (#118531572)

Do you know how William Ballard (1686-1771) came to be buried in Bates Cemetery in Thompson, CT, if he died in Framingham? And do you know where his wife Deborah was buried?

Hi Marilyn - sorry I am just seeing your message now! Yes, we must be cousins! Here is a link to my genealogy online where you will see Eber Downs: http://novumarts.com/genealogy/wc01/wc01_023.htm
My line continues with Isaac, Kneeland, Jerome Sr, Jerome Jr, Nellie, Dorothy and Ann (my mother).
So nice to meet you, cousin!

I am grateful! I was fussing more about whether i got my requests written up correctly. I see I didn't confuse you too much. Joe Verreau
|Joe Verreau||RE: question about birthdate|
I thank you. clever of you to figure I really meant Jacob not Joshua; curious slip that.
|Joe Verreau||memorial number for Joshua bates|
Marilyn, . . . sorry I forgot to include the memorial number for Joshua Bates, 11567289, that I was referring to in my previous message.
|Joe Verreau||question about birthdate|
Marilyn, I see the memorial has two birth dates, one in the bio and one in the birth date field. My research agrees with the date in the bio, that would be 20 Aug 1710. I do think the date 14 Aug 1671 is relevant but my research indicates that's his father's birth date, that would be Joshua who married Rachel Tower, neither of whom apparently have memorials in Find A Grave as yet. do you have any additional insight?
