Thanks much to anyone taking the time to check my entries. After I finish making many in one cemetery I do go back and check for duplicates and errors but I always appreciate polite help.

please add your photo to my memorial
Hi Nola Girl,

I've just created a memorial for Audrey Genevieve Nick (memorial # 163612700). Please add your photo to her memorial ... see your memorial # 136462698 for your photo; she's the last name on that headstone, partially blocked by the vase and flowers.

RE: N.O. Cemetery Search
Thanks NolaGirl for your help. I guess the only other possibility is to ask the offices of Greenwood Cemetery and Metairie Cemetery if they are buried there. But only when you have the time.
Kirk :-)

Ellen Ludlum
Someone doing research for me in NO said that in the interment book for Saint Patrick's Cemetery #1 she was interred on 2 Feb 1899, no further information was recorded. We think she didn't have family at the time but her body was listed as "claimed" from Charity Hospital not being buried in the hospital cemetery. Her husband had disappeared several years earlier along with one son. The other son had moved to north Louisiana. You can e-mail me at if that is easier. Thanks for your help. Jo

RE: The Reeves Family memorials
Hi and thanks again. I did get a message to Kay so now she's looking for other parents for Jimmie Reeves. You helped a lot. I think I'm learning .

I see that you have taken many photos of grave sites in New Orleans. I'm looking for a photo of the grave site for Ellen Ludlum known to be in St. Patrick's #1 Cemetery. Her burial date is 2 Feb 1899. That's all I know. Thank you for your time and trouble. Jo

RE: The Reeves Family memorials
Thanks very much. I just learned about Find A Grave from my cousin who was visiting and I only joined tonight, so I don't know how to go about correcting the person who assigned the wrong parents to Jimmie Reeves. She couldn't have been close kin to Hal,though. He was an only child, his father had only one sister, who never married, and I don't know of any brothers of Hal's grandfather, John Brinson Reeves. How do I contact the lady who guessed wrong ?

N.O. Cemetery Search
My g-g-grandfather was John Jerome Haggerty.
b. May 24, 1862
New Orleans.

d. Jan. 27, 1937
New Orleans.

My g-g-grandmother was Delia Conroy Haggerty
b. Nov. 20, 1863
New Orleans.

d. Jan. 21, 1938
New Orleans.

But I am still not sure which cemetery he and his wife Delia were buried.
John's father, (Dennis Haggerty 1824-1890) was buried at St. Patrick's cemetery #2, Plot: Sec. 31, Lot 16.

I hope this helps.

Help in finding a N.O. grave
Hi NOLAGirl,

Thanks for being a contributor for FindAGrave.
I noticed you have taken grave photos in the New Orleans area, so I assume you live there.
I live in Munich, Germany so it's not possible for me to do grave hunting (or sightseeing) in N.O. at this time.
I have a memorial for my g-g-grandfather but I can't find exactly where he was buried. His father was buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery #2 so I assume it is there as well. The cemetery is big, old and has lost info and had sustained damage from Hurricane Katrina over 10 years ago. If you are able to help in any way locating the grave, I would greatly appreciate it. Please let me know.

The memorial is John Jerome Haggerty (1862-1937)
Memorial # 153135822

Thanks again and have a great day.

Thomas Osborne
I am very interested in finding out about my Osborne family in Oughterard and Clifden, Galway. I see you have posted a photo for Thomas Osborne. However, I cannot read what the headstone says. Can you help? My family was Bernard Osborne, who married Anne Maher. They came to the U.S. with their children around 1856.
I hope you can help!
