Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Shabbona IL and headed up the restoration on Shabbona Grove Cemetery on Shabbona Grove Road south of Shabbona. We started the restoration in Sep of 2000 and all the stones are up ! There is always something to be done in a cemetery. I'm into Family History and have a file on all those that I know of who are buried in the cemetery ! Glad to assist in anyway with info on the cemetery and it's residents. I am the sexton for this cemetery.

I wanted to let you know I removed the grave sites of the Beschorners that did not belong in the cemetery you worked so hard to complete correctly. These were transferred to me and I did not realize they were not in the right cemetery! Thanks for all your work

John B. Waters Family
Hello James Stewart.

I saw your information at the John B. Waters
grave information and thought I might be able
to help.

I don't know when John B. Waters died but I do
know that after he died. Mary A. Waters married
James Fowler on July 11, 1867. I you are able to
access the 1870 Census you will find her listed with James Fowler along with for of her children,
Jennie, Clarissa, Edward and William. Also listed
are 2 of James' children and 2 more children that
James and Mary Ann had together, Ella and Baby
Fowler who was later named Alice.

James is my Great-Great-Great Grandfather on my
mother's side.

If I can be of any further assistance please just
e-mail me. I have been unable to confirm when
James and Mary Ann passed but I do know that they
did sometime when Alice was a teenager from her
obit. Maybe you know of some Fowlers buried in
Shabbona, DeKalb, Illinois that aren't listed.

I hope this is some help.

Hinds family
I'm so excited to find your photos on this link of my Hinds family. I would like to ask for your permission to copy these photos to my family tree. I will certainly give you full credit. I've done some photographing of headstones, myself, and I know what a long process it is. Thank you so much for your work!

RE: Coleman Olmstead gravestone photo
Coleman was the paternal great grandfather of my great grandfather's first wife, Jennie Olmstead. And yes, there are lots of Olmsteads!

RE: Mary Walker in Shabbona Grove Cem.
I was confused at first about the Walker name, then realized that was her maiden name, and Olmstead was her married name. I have deleted her memorial as you requested so you will be able to place her in the correct cemetery. Pam

Re; Emma Spray.
If this helps, I'm not sure, but Jared A. HOUSEL was living in Belleville, Chautauqua, Kansas in the 1910 census with his first wife (who is buried next to him) Iola at McAllen, Texas. Iola died in 1827, Jared in 1940. I have not looked for any children for Jared with his first wife or with Emma.

I wish you luck on your search. I'm still looking for an Emma and husband Harvey M. HOUSEL who appear only (as far as I've discovered) in the 1910 Census at Bunker Hill South Ward, Macoupin, Illinois. They're low priority, but I'm sorry I mistook Emma, second wife of Jared for this same woman. Mistakes do happen.
