Bio and Links
Bio Photo A big "Thank You" goes out to everyone who sends any info and links for the memorials I've added. I regret that I cannot thank each of you individually, although with the new Edit system you now get computer-generated acknowledgements that your suggested changes and/or additions have been accepted.

I got interested in Family History in 2007, and in 2008 and 2009 visited hundreds of my "dead relatives", as my wife so descriptively put it. (I did meet many live ones, too.) Most of the graves I visited were close relatives of my great-grandparents and one great-great-grandmother: their siblings, aunts and grand-aunts, uncles and grand-uncles, and first and second cousins.

My great-grandfathers were:
James McCullough Minteer, Jr.
Joseph Warner Wright
Marsh K. Renshaw
Robert John Woods, Jr.

Feel free to use any of my grave marker photos any way that you want to, as few (if any) of them have any artistic value which might be covered by the intent of the Copyright clause in the Constitution. (Please note, however, that this only applies to photos with my name under them. For any others, you will need to contact the person who added them for their permission to copy and use elsewhere.)

Missing Sibling
Dear Sir,
You seemed to have left out the name of my great, great grandfather; John Ferguson Summerville. He was the son of John Summerville and Catherine Ferguson Summerville (both are buried in Worthington). John was married to Margaret Sample Summerville and he died (according to the history of Clarion County) in Red Bank Furnace in 1867 at the age of 32. I am having a great deal of trouble locating the graves of him and his wife. I have a map which shows she succeeded him and lived on 95 acres in Red Bank Furnace (Watterson's Ferry Post Office).
Please check your records to verify your omission and contact me at
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Julie {Palmer} Clark & Jerry Clark
George Melvin Clark (#85154811) & his wife, Effie Emeline {Sadler} Clark (#85200216)
Rob, This couple were Jerry's paternal Great Grandparents. As noted on their "Find-a-Grave" memorials, both of their Montana Death Certificates state their burial location - Effie in "Bozeman Cemetery" and George in "Sunset Hills Bozeman". Since several of other Clark family members are buried in the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bozeman, Jerry & I traveled there last March (2014) and searched their records for both George and/or Effie. Effie died in 1927 - George died about 17 yrs later, in 1944. While staff at Sunset Hills in Bozeman were incredible and very gracious, we were unable to find either Effie or George in their written records. And as you know, this is a very large cemetery so we didn't feel comfortable just walking around it - in addition, there was about a foot of snow on the ground!

Both Jerry & I strongly suspect Effie & George are buried at Sunset Memorial Park/Gardens in Belgrade. We plan to visit this cemetery sometime soon and research their records. For the time being, I have moved them to the Belgrade cemetery. Effie & George immigrated from Nebraska in the late 1800s and owned a farm in the Belgrade area. While their death certs do make you believe they were buried in Bozeman, it makes far more sense that they were buried in Belgrade.

Thanks as always for all the work you've done and thanks for sending us this information on the 4 burials. Jerry & I have been "wintering" in Arizona since last Fall and I'm just now getting back to checking up on ancestry/graves "stuff":) Julie

Wallace Alfred "Wally" Dale, #120561838
Wally was a paternal cousin of Jerry's - son of his Great Aunt Viola {Clark} Dale. After a couple of phone calls to relatives in Montana, turns out he was cremated and was supposed to be buried near/with his parents in Sunset Memorial Park in Gallatin County. But apparently that never happened. I have changed his burial info to "Cremated, Ashes given to family/friends".

Alice Helen {Dale} Herrin, #93450436
Thanks Rob for your email(s) regarding 4 of our memorials who were placed in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bozeman MT. I have researched all 4 of them and will comment on each separately; this msg is regarding Alice Helen {Dale} Herrin. Alice was listed as having been buried at Sunset Hills at the time of her death - both on her death certificate as well as in the Dale family bible records. However, since she is a very distant relative by marriage to Jerry, we have changed her burial location to read as "Unknown" as you suggested.

I'll address the other 3 in individual messages:)

Thanks, Julie Clark

Re: Mel Cuenin
No problem -- if you do happen to come across his burial site, I'd appreciate if you'd pass it along. I've got him in cemetery unknown as you requested.

Deleted Memorials
Rob: I changed the four memorials to "burial unknown". I wonder if the obits were incorrect or the name was omitted from the cemetery listing, as sometimes happens. Thank you as always for your help. Cara
