PLEASE DO NOT COPY MY PHOTOGRAPHS AND POST THEM TO ANY OTHER SITES. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF MY COPYRIGHT!|
PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY PHOTO'S AND POST THEM ON ANOTHER SITE OR BOOKS THEY BELONG TO ME AND MY FAMILY AND IF I HAD WANTED THEM POSTED ON ANCESTRY COM OR ANY OTHER SITE I WOULD HAVE POSTED THEM MYSELF. THIS IS STEALING AND AGAINST THE LAW.
Born 1959. Married, 6 children. Love history, cemetery art and gardening. I have been doing genealogy for 30+ years.
I am a historian. I document an event for future generations. I am not a "hawk" or a "vulture". I do not get paid for this, I do not gain anything from this. I do not wish to disrupt your grieving process. I do not do this to disrespect anyone.
I believe that after 3 or 4 generations, everyone is basically forgotten. Our graves sit there deteriorating without a care. I especially feel for childless couples or infants and children, they are forgotten sooner. I love this website, because generation after generation, our future family will be able to come here, and see our graves, and with a little love and care can see our faces also. Tracing our lineage will be so much easier for future generations.
I will post obits on memorials with proper citation. I know some people feel that this info is "private" or "personal" but.... it was PUBLISHED IN THE PAPER FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.
99% of the time this info is invaluable to genealogists. I have had cemeteries tell me they are private property and those interred there want privacy. If someone truly wants privacy, get cremated and scattered over the ocean, don't put up a huge headstone with your name, dates...... Like having a huge billboard up on a highway and you are asked not to look at it or read it........SILLY.
**Please, no drama. I report, ignore and block, rude or offensive communications.**
I also feel creating memorials for living people is disrespectful. Anyone can find names and dates to enter, but to truly do the job correctly, the names, obits, dates and links should be complete. If you add an obit, it should be as it was printed.
My paternal grandparents were Wavie (nee Rench) & Jesse Botkin. She was the first schoolteacher in Atlanta. Jesse ran the store in town. I have a 2006 copy of the cemetery records. I will try to get the transcribed into Find A Grave.
I do my best to post accurately and respectfully.
I LOVE FINDAGRAVE. I love making corrections. I want my memorials to be as complete as possible. Bring on the additional information. I am on here every day.

I sent you a faulty correction/edit yesterday and I wish to apologize! I guess I was tired and had too many tabs open. I've sent another with the correct information (I had given you her grandmother's memorial # in place of her mother's). Sorry for the trouble -- you have been so helpful to me in the past that I especially hate to cause you inconvenience!

First and foremost, thank you for all your efforts to transcribe the burials at the Atlanta Cemetery. My husband is the caretaker of a small pioneer cemetery here in Washington state. We have transcribed and photographed the 610 burials.
Henry Barkshire (55476982), his wife, Sarah E Barkshire (55476962) and their grandson, Willie J. H. Barkshire (55477033) are my great great grandparents and GGG Uncle. I would very much appreciate if you would transfer them to me so that I can add to their memorials. My number is 46975450.
Henry and Sarah had six children and several of them and their spouses and children are also buried in the Atlanta Cemetery in the family plot. I will get the complete list to you a bit later.
Thank you again for all your hard work.
Sincerely, Karen Struve

Sorry it took so long.

Hello cousin Rita,
I belong to her daughter Jean. Since I don't know what info you have of grandma I will tell you that she had 3 children. My mom, whose formal name is Eleanor Jean, John Jacob (Jack) and her youngest, Mary Catherine.
Uncle Jack died when he was 19 in a car accident. My mother married a John E. Dunn, he died April 2012. My aunt Mary married Kenneth E. Weiss.
|Roger Root||Transfer request|
You have created a record for my father's brother within hours of the funeral home's web page addition.
Please transfer the record for Kenneth O Root, Find A Grave number 127212827 to me, Roger Root ID number 93943208.
I can link this record to his first wife, that he had three children with. I can update this record to link to his ancestors. I will update the gravestone photo when a death date is added.
I will give my uncle loving care.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU very much for the transfer. I really appreciate your kindness!!! He was one of the missing links in my Swedish family.

Rita, disregard that last question. I failed to read the above, stating Wavie being your paternal grandparents. My Bad!
I went to school with a Rita Rench at Smithboro elementary. Do you know her and what were her parent's names?
Grace Neta Rench was my gr. grandmother and her daughter, Florence Eva Baldwin Rohde my grandmother.
Was Wavie Rench Botkin your grandmother? Trying to find the connection.
