Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a Daughter of a Union Veteran of the Civil War. (DUVCW) My Great Great Grandfather, John Delong fought in the Civil War. I am unable to find his grave. He died in Spencerville, Ohio on June 17, 1895 at the age of 84. I volunteer at the Grand Rapids, Michigan Home for Veterans.

I am an United States Air Force Veteran.

Also I am the secretary for the Grand Rapids Civil War Round Table. And I am a director on our newly formed group, Friends of Michigan Veterans' Homes. We raise money for the little extras for our Vets in the Homes.

It is hard for me to pass a cemetery without stopping. Lucky for me, my husband has the same interests.

Please if you request a transfer, please use the EDIT key. Also send me your ID number.

Sylvina Bowsher Delong Kesler
Your Sylvina is the sister of my kids 3rd great grandfather Isaac Bowsher. The Henry Shafer 1766 PA #14187253 had daughters by first wife Elizabeth unknown who came with Henry and Catherine to OH abt 1830s. Both of the girls where married to Kesler brothers.Didn't know if you had found that yet.

Henry was born in Dauphin Co PA and Catherine was born in Germany I think. They had 9 children I know of: Jacob, Henry, Agnes, Infant,John, Catherine "Katy", Mary "Polly", Michael, and Daniel.

I'm not sure if the H Shaffer is the right one yet I'll keep looking and let you know if he is.

My children have Bowsher,Steplton,Harpster, Delong,Shaffer and a few others in their lines.

Thank you for responding so soon.

H Shaffer/ Mrs H Shaffer
Do you have any more info on the H Shaffer #14187063 and Mrs H Shaffer #14187068. I think Henry is the son of Henry #14187253 and Catherine #14187246 Shaffer who I have been searching for. Any info you might have I would greatly appreciate. Thank you

Fred C Nicholson's Dad
Fred's Dad is also supposed to be buried at Fairplains. Have you come across information for Fred's father: Ed Nicholson? His given name might be varied as - Edwin, Edmond, Edd, etc. Thanks for your help.

William J Graham
Thank you so much for creating a memorial for # 116673169 at Walton Cemetery, Macon Co, TN. I have been working on the genealogy of Rev Richard Graham. I was so surprised when I stumbled onto your memorial. I was not sure about the spelling of his wife's name, so wonderful to have the information. Anna
