Bio and Links
Bio Photo Find A Grave is a wonderful place to leave a memorial. I believe that everyone who lived and died should be remembered in someway. Please leave flowers when you view a memorial!

I have been doing research for 28 years, and even before then I was paying attention during family time to all the stories about our ancestors. Please, pass along all the old stories and information that you can to your family. Do not forget to take notes and please leave Bible Records for future generations.

Learning about our family has been a great joy to my husband, David and I. We enjoy searching for cemeteries, records and recording information to leave behind for future generations.

I love having the ability to help others with their family research. It is a joy and pleasure to be a part of each family that I help.

Surnames that we are working on are:

WILSON, O'BANION, PATE, PEACE,
BAILEY, WISE, YOUNG & SPURLOCK.

Wilsons of Shelby Co TX
Hi - I am a descendant of a William B Wilson from the GA/SC/TN area. I am searching for the parents of Bill. I ran across your research of the cemeteries and I was wondering if you know anything about the story of how the Wilsons came to Shelby Co, TX., from Georgia?

I have two large photos of Wilsons/Sheltons taken in texas circa 1910-1912. The family story is that my Wilsons were visiting Wilson relatives in texas when these photos were taken.

Other names with this is Lewis Wilson and Lizzie Shelton Wilson.

There are 6 people in the photo (painting?) one has on a badge of some sort.

Can you help me?

Thanks - Nancy Smith Harrison

RE: Harris, Union Springs Cemetery, Webster Parish, LA.
Virginia, Thank you for your sweet note. I feel very strongly that memorials should be in the hands of family or friends that knew and loved the individual. I'm just the caretaker until someone fitting that description comes along. That being said, if there are others that you'd like to manage, just send me a request via the "Edit" option and I'll be glad to do so.

God bless,
Heather

RE: Union Grove Cemetery, Georgia
Sorry, no idea who's who in that cemetery. I'm not related to anybody there or doing any genealogical research on it, just photoing it for Find A Grave.
I photographed every marker, over several days over the past couple weeks, then I check all of them against Find A Grave to see which memorial needs a photo or doesn't have a memorial at all, then I upload a photo, suggest an edit, or create a new memorial, as needed. (i'm up to about 125 new memorials just for that cemetery, so far, couple dozen more to go, so you might see some more names you need. check my memorials added list, sort by cemetery, on my profile page). I got to Maud Wilson and saw yours didn't have a first name, your photo missed the top of the headstone where that first name is.
I can tell you Maud Wilson is directly next to this one:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=43432905
which has a duplicate memorial here:

RE: Bailey Connection!
I have finally had time to get back to Find A Grave and discover that we may be related as I have William Bailey b 09 Jan 1800 Oglethorp County, Georgia, but that is all I have for him . . . that's funny, must have merged someone and he was dropped out.

I can send you my Bailey Descendants report and we could take a look and see if we might be distant cousins, my email address is suslehman@aol.com
Hope we find that we are related!
thanks
Susan

RE: Emory Spear Wehunt
Here are some of my notes on Emory:

His father-in-law EcElreath moved from Hall County to Oglethorpe County around 1903
Emory spear and Vinnie were reported married in Barrow County in 1903
However Barrow County was not formed until 1914 from parts of Gwinnett, Walton and Jackson Counties
Barrow was work clothing capitol of the world- (probably how Emory Spear ended up in NC)

Emory Speer Wehunt is Found in 1900 Jackson County Georgia Census
In household of Miles Foster and wife Nancy.
He is listed as a servant, born May 1882 age 18
Miles Foster and brother Samuel Foster were the sons of John Foster & Louis (Louise ?)
They were in Dawson County in 1880.
