Bio and Links
Bio Photo Although an Asheville native, my genealogical bases are Yancey, Mitchell and Iredell Counties. Surnames closely related to me are Vickery, Morrison, Bradshaw, Stevenson, Gibson and Bagwell.

I will never create a grave for anyone about whom I know nothing; if I do not have any information other than two dates I leave creation of the memorial to someone who hopefully does have it. These people deserve more on their memorials than just dates, no matter how large the cemetery!

Those who transcribe whole cemeteries without even bothering to use dates, just to boost their numbers, should be banned from the site, in my opinion. With the resources of the Internet now available, there is no excuse for such.

However, I am happy to transfer graves of any persons who are not related to me, to anyone who is related to the deceased. That said, please do not abuse this. Thanks.

PLEASE NOTE: We can NOT link parents to children! That is, we have to link children UP to parents, not link parents DOWN to children. It's just the way the site works. Please do not contact me about adding children to the parents' graves. I can't. Instead - contact the creators of the chidren's graves and ask them to link the kids UP to the parents - it is the only way to do this.

Kindly refrain from post death certs on my memorials. Photos are great, however.

Lilly Branch Transcription
Hi Mark,
While searching through the transcription for Lilly Br. today, I noticed that you don't have any Ledford's listed in the Surname directory at the beginning of the survey. Dropping down the list to number 268 and 269, you see two of my wife's ancestors listed. The birth and death dates don't correspond with any of the documents on or FamilySearch. It appears that Elizabeth has copied and pasted this info from your transcription in order to send a spread sheet or an Excel file with all of the names on it to Find A Grave. She is notorious for copying entire cemeteries this way, which generates countless errors when they create the memorials for her.
Did you see these grave markers yourself, when you went there for this survey? I need to know if they are actually interred there. With the mistakes that Elizabeth has made, I have to check all angles.
Please let me know what you know on this.

Thank you Mark for sending her my way. I placed Lucinda Young back in your hands. Too many perpetual names repeated in both of those families, from generation to generation. Seems like they had a methodology to their madness; each child repeated the names of their ancestors over and over and other families in adjoining counties followed suit using the exact same names. A genuine researcher's nightmare; thanks again.

Sarah Woody

I would like to know how do you know Sarah woody was married to Greenberry Silvers. Everyone on my mother side of the family said she had one child and was never married. My mother buried in the Woody Cemetery on Double Island rd in Yancey County. Ty Virginia

Fred Hart Family info wrong
Thanks for doing this, but you have Fred's information all wrong. He was my grandmother's brother this is how I know. His mother and father were Charles Raymond Hart and Donie Emaline Conley Hart. Sisters were Siletta, Queen Easter, Lillian Kate, Ruby Faye, Billie, and Patricia. David "Dock" Columbus and Magdalene "Maggie" Canipe Hart are his paternal Grandparents and his great grandparents were Dr. Richard and Jane Amanda Mckinney Hart. Thanks, April Mann

Ellis Family
I am trying to conduct research on Samuel Jarvis Ellis and his wife Ida Mae Harris Ellis and their farm that existed in Iredell County. I would appreciate hearing from you if you are connected to the family or have information.
