Each time we embrace a memory....
We meet again with those we love*

The Story Tellers

We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.
(author unknown ) I love running to cemeteries close by and searching for those I've never been to. I've had many adventures from getting chased by large dive-bombing mosquitoes out in the middle of nowhere to discovering many old buried graves and working carefully to bring them back to their rightful place.

I have a Virtual Cemetery for "Military". It contains as many local and family members as I remember to add. This may be of interest to those dedicated to covering our history.

RE: Barringer
You are welcome. It is pretty easy to find, just off old 40. I am related to all of the Gillespie's one way or an other.

That is why the pictures are so lousy. Can't go out today and take pictures, lots of new snow.

I don't think it is a replacement. If you click on the G.P.S. coordinates it will show you his location in the cemetery. He only has one stone. The others in the background belong to different individuals.
There are some older stones that are getting pretty hard to read, fortunately his seems to be in good shape.
I am glad I was able to find him for you.

Ancestry
Hi Dianne,

I am not a member of Ancestry, so I do not have a tree on there. I have used them when I have had the opportunity at the local libraries, but I don't think you can access trees with their programs. I just joined Fold3 on the 4th, They are having a "Cyber Week" type membership sale and I think it lasts until the 7th. The special is $48 for a year's membership. I have already found lots of military records, including for John Frazier (William's father). I will try to send that to you. It seems he was wounded at Murfreesboro where he lost his left arm. He was also captured, and later exchanged.

RE: Smith
Hi, Dianne,

You are very welcome. But Sheryl manages the memorials, not me. She is always very good about things submitted through the "edit" key, although it might take her a week or two to get to them, what with how much everyone has to do at the holiday season, and all. If you have pictures of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, I am sure Sheryl would welcome them. It always helps to make a memorial so much more personal, when we can see their faces.

I am glad you like my pictures. Thank you,

Sue Ann

Hi Dianne,
So sorry for the delay in responding to your search for a marker for my relative. Thank you so much for verifying that there is no marker. I appreciate your research and time very much!
Sincerely,
Darlene

Robert Joshua Williams

yes, I know he was William Williams father. Do you have burial info for Robert Joshua or have a link to his findagrave page? Because if not, this information unusable on findagrave.com
