Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family genealogy for about 25 years and enjoy helping others in the process. What a great website we have here to be able to help others with their research and bringing so many families together in the process.

Please stop and visit with my sister.

Under the "EDIT" key: You can Suggest a correction or provide additional information for any entry that I have made. Please send over the Parents and Spouse links on this also. You can also ask for a transfer under the EDIT key, then I have your ID # and can easily do the transfer for you.

I would be happy to transfer ownership of a record that I have added, if they are family and have more information that they would like to add.

Thank you for all the flowers and notes that have been added to the memorials that I have posted.

Sarah Graham Walsh
{Obituary, presumably from Rantoul Press}
of Eighty-Nine Years, Seven Months and Eighteen Days--Touching Manifestations of a Christian's Trust in God.

Mrs. Sarah Walsh died at the home of her son, Edward Walsh, living about a mile west of town, at 3 o'clock p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 1902, aged 89 years, 7 months, and 18 days. She passed to her home above as sweetly as a babe falls asleep in its mother's arms.

Sarah Graham was born in Westmeath county, Ireland, May 21, 1812. She was converted when 11 years of age. In 1840 she was married to John Walsh. Mr. Walsh died Jan. 25, 1879. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Walsh: William, John, Lizzie, Richard, Robert, and Edward. William died Sept. 21, 1875; Richard died Nov. 11, 1882. All the others are living. She came with her family to America in 1868. Her faith in God's care was manifested while crossing the ocean. The sea was very rough and some of the passengers were much frightened, but she told those around her that "everything would be all right." She lived in Menard county with her family until 1871, when she moved to Douglas County. While in Menard county she joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church. She never wearied of talking about religion. She moved to Champaign county in 1876, where she resided the remainder of her life. In 1877 she united with the Methodist church at a meeting held in the Kentucky settlement. Her illness began Sunday Jan. 5, and she said from the first she would not recover. Monday night she said she saw a beautiful place and spoke of it several times. She said: "Oh, how I wish you all could see it! I know you would be better satisfied." While able to speak she asked all who came in to meet her in Heaven. She tried to sing hymns all through her illness and one night asked the family to sing to her, "Am I a Soldier of the Cross?" Her trust in the Savior was perfect.

The funeral services were held at the M.E. church at 2 o'clock p.m. Sunday, Rev. E.K. Towle officiating. Interment was in Maplewood cemetery.

Samuel & Susan Atchison

I have just added headstone photo for Memorial #84379079 and #84379026. I took the photo in St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery, Winchester, IL about 10 years ago.
Susan W Lyons Atchison is my g.g.aunt. Her sister, Mary Ann Lyons married my g.g.grandfather James M Brown, Sr.
Do you have any additional information about them?

Thank you.

Cheryl :
Uncle John Thomas Ramsey # 76252530 died Feb.10, 1984 not 1934. And yes the 8 looks a little like a 3 . His son that is on Thomas stone I believe to be John David Ramsey born 1938. He is on the 1940 census. Please change the death date for Thomas. Please transfer the memorial for Thomas # 76252530 and Infant son # 64574534 Thank you .

Thank you so much, Cheryl, for the transfer of Mary Louise Barr Russel. If it is in Diamond Grove, and the Russel has one L, you can count on it being somewhere in my family. Dr. Andrew and Agnes Russel emigrated directly to Jacksonville, IL, from Scotland in 1834, and these are their descendents, who grew up and raised their families in the area. I so appreciate your help in building my family tree. You are always so nice about sharing your creations. Mary :>)

Thanks so much, Cheryl, for the transfer. I am at my mom's in WI. We just got back from a trip to IL, a several-day genealogical tear through family cemeteries in Jacksonville and Winchester. I am trying to get all the info added and straightened out. For every rock you turn over,...... I so appreciate your generosity and help. Mary

RE: Gilbert Pierson
I'm more inclined to think Lee was her middle name as one of the census reports lists her middle name as "L". Does the marriage license show the state Addie was born in. This lady is from Kentucky? Also, the census reports show her widowed. Gilbert's obit said he had three kids which would coincide with Wilber, Pauline and Lenore being his only children. If you show her from Kentucky, I would like to link him with Lenore.
Thanks again. Shirley #48364621

I see that you have added James B McDaniel 1855-1937. He is my 2nd great grandfather. How are you related to him. Do you have info on his daughter Izetta McDaniel Paul? My mom was named after her but I can't find her grave. Any ideas??
