I have been doing genealogy for about 20 years. My line is Bedford, Compton, Grotevant, Mulcahy, Ortega, and Showalter to mention a few. My husbands line is Burford, Eastman and Gilpin.|
I try to go on a genealogy trip about once a year. As I look for my ancestors, I will also try to fulfill the photo requests. I live in Arizona, so if I have added a picture for a request, it means I also have ancestors in that cemetery.

|Hallerie Kinsey||Bedford family|
We, being my best friend and I are researching the Bedford family. Lynne (my best friend) has recently moved into a home in Springboro Ohio. She has loved this house form the start and has felt a real passion for its history as well as its maker! Threw talking to locals we have discovered many interesting facts one of them being the the builder, William S Bedford 1804-1888. The search was on at that point! We have learned so much about his immediate family as well as his extended family. It was sad for us to learn that William and his wife Elizabeth only had 2 daughters, Clara and Florence. Neither had children of their own to carry on his namesake. We were hoping that threw his brothers lines we might be able to find out some more family history and maybe even some pictures of Williams family and his house that he built. I have been following Thomas Bedford's family tree (Williams brother) and have been down several roads. It is a bit overwhelming to say the least, but we are driven to find some more info. Lynne's ultimate goal is to find the pictures and have them framed to display in Williams house as well as in the historic society of Springboro. In the basement of Williams home (where Lynne lives now) there is a room that we assumed he hid slaves in as he was a conductor of the underground railroad, we have also found writings from Florence his daughter to confirm Williams's "mishap" with the law as he attempted to stand up for human rights. Any information and or pictures that you could give us would be so appreciated. We went to the grave sites today of William, Elizabeth, Clara, and Elizabeth's family the Dearths. Then we traveled to the cemetery where Thomas and Jane Bedford (Williams parents) are buried. We have started a scrape book of the whole family as they seem to all have been such interesting, kind, and loving people. may I ask how you tie into the Bedfords and what info and photos would you be willing share as we are attempting to honor Mr. William Bedford and his work. Thank you in advance for input and shared info! Hallerie Kinsey

|CJ||RE: Gardner Family|
Yikes, I'd forgotten that I attached Margaret's mother and that Margaret married Samuel Gardner, not his brother Ben.
Since I don't follow the Van Valkenburgh line I didn't really notice Katherine on Jeanette's headstone but I suspect she is a daughter of Jeanette and sister to Margaret. Katherine Merrill died in 1949 and Margaret's daughter (Katharine Merrill Gardner) was born in 1952 so she was probably named after her. If I'm ever able to connect them, I will make the physical connection on the site. Thanks for the insights!

Gosh I don't know who Jeanette Van Valkenburgh is but if she was born around the same time as Katherine then I suspect the might be the sister of Margaret (Van Valkenburgh) Gardner who married Ben Gardner. (Ben & Margaret are the parent of Katharine Merrill Gardner and Ben Gardner, whose headstones photos you provided today.)
Find A Grave Memorial# 64831658 Margaret
Are you sure that the Katherine Merrill (whose entry you just transferred to me) didn't have the last name Van Valkenburgh? I'm thinking that Jeanette and Margaret and Katherine might have been sisters!
Anyway, that's not my line (my line is the Gardners) but I'm glad to try to piece them together. :-)
