RE: Barrentine
I've had the same problem. For some reason, the search doesn't work and I get no results and then find out later that I've duped because the original entry didn't show up on the search. Real bummer!!

Family Info Seaches
Since my father was career USAF, I have done a lot of research on WWII in the Pacific, China, Berlin Air Lift, and Korea. After that he was in USAF Communications Security. Not much I can get there, even if I was in crypto maint.

At any rete, if there is anything in the military area where I can help, let me know. Esp. WWII.

Are you in the Hill County area?

RE: Minnie Elmore
Well right now, I am wondering that it might be two Minnie Elmores....a daughter and a mom...So as soon as I find out, I will then delete my entry. And send you the extra information and links to her parents. THere just seems to be a lot of confusion about this. The old headstones out there are so hard to read and dates are reversed sometimes...the 1920 might should be 1902? So I am not sure yet, till I see the headstone. 1920 would also be the right age to be her child ....

Keep you posted.

RE: Harper
Thanks....he probably has a homemade cross headstone that says Bill??? I am going back out there before long and will try to find it. He does have a large CSA marker.

Take care,
Linda

zollicoffer
Russ, Bless you for finding my Zollicoffer Cemetery near Irene in Hill County. There were others living in Ellis County, like John Calvin Z and Oscar Mortimer Z in 1860 and 1870. Their mother, Abigale Nicholson Zollicoffer, is my ggg gm and supposedly died abt 1870-1880 in Ellis Co, but is unlocated. Her daughter, Amanda N. Zollicofer Sims died in 1876 and is buried with Nicholas P. Sims in Ellis Co. He funded the first Waxahachie Library from his estate in his will. If you could find her stone it would complete my Zollicoffer quest. The Sims were wealthy with beautiful stones. If Abigale Z. died living with them in the 1870s there should be a nice stone waiting to be recorded. I watch and care for about 215 cemeteries in Collin Co. with help from friends. Thanks for both your efforts.

RE: Eber Evans
Okay thanks. I am just trying to help preserve the history of the Gordon and Thornton families. I finally thought to look on the Freestone County Archives listing and saw where you probably got your information. Thanks for catching that they weren't posted. I need to go out there one day and just look around....but almost too hot these days.
Take care and God bless, Linda

The entry is correct and he does have his info on the headstone. Sorry about that. I misunderstood when I asked him where his wife was buried.
