Bio Photo You live as long as you are remembered. -- Russian proverb

I am a record keeper.
This is a great place to share some of the information that I have and hopefully help others in their research as well.

I spend a lot of time walking the cemeteries and getting information and photos for the memorials, but my purpose is not to have "ownership" of them, but to make as many available for family, loved ones and genealogy researchers that I can.
If I can help someone find information about their relatives by posting an old obituary it makes it worth my time.

"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love." ~Leo Buscaglia

If I have made an entry that needs correction or if you would like it transferred, please just let me know and I'll be happy to help.

If you want to contact me with information, links or corrections for any of my memorials, please use the "Suggest A Correction" (SAC) link on the "Edit" tab of the memorial.

Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren
You have an Emily Jane Long listed, her ID# is:
40172828
Would you or could you find out anything about her? I don't want you to go to a lot of trouble, but maybe the cemetery has information on her or
her family? I would appreciate the help.
Have a pleasant evening. Phyllis 'Long' Rhodes

Thank you so much for doing this. I hope to get all of the memorials I have created moved over in the next couple of days. I hope the other involved contributors will be as cooperative as you!

RE: N.Frederick mem.#41098608
Thank you in advance for your efforts. If you created the original memorial in 2009, the gravestone must be there someplace. Like you, i saw a lot of broken stones when I visited there last May. (It is unlikely that I will be able to visit Fairview in the near future.)
Nancy's daughter-in-law, Mary Frederick, should also be buried someplace in Fairview. She died in 1890, two years after Nancy. Her grave should most likely be near Nancy's. There stone's would likely be small. The son/husband was a beginning lawyer and probably couldn't afford more. As in Nancy's case, I also could not find Mary's gravestone, but have created a "virtual" memorial for her.
Nancy Frederick (1814-1888)(mem #41098608)
Mary E Frederick (1861-1890)(mem #90151469)
If you find out the locations of the graves, I would appreciate the information. Nancy has a great granddaughter in Dallas who might like to make a visit there.
Is there a cemetery office with a record of all the burials? I made an internet search, but couldn't find such.
I assume you live in/near Van Buren. My wife's gg-gf (Nancy's son and Mary''s husband) practiced lawyer there for a short time in the late 1880s and early 1890s. He then moved west to Poteau and Stigler in Oklahoma after Mary died.
I don't want to impose too much on your good will. It is possible to hire someone to search for the stones? (or perhaps offer the caretaker some kind of payment?)

RE: Powers family
Your mom and I corresponded years ago about the Powers family. I was thinking she had an old Powers bible and if so, I have lost track of the transcription she gave me. Do you know if she had such a bible? I could be getting your mom confused with another Powers researcher. I know that her father, Lonnie Weaver Powers, was a first cousin to my grandmother, Nellie Kennedy White. Sounds so close when I put it like that. Thanks.
