Dennis has been doing genealogy research for over 40 years. He is retired but never idle. He would love to answer questions if he has the ability to do so. You are also welcome to use any tombstone pictures, individual photos and/or biographical information he has posted for your own family history records.|

No problem at all. I don't have any in Iowa that I am in search of for my family at present, thank you, though. I don't actually have any family in any Iowa cemeteries; the only people in the Maxwell cemetery that I have any connection to are my sister-in-law's family (Peters) and I believe they are already documented. I was only volunteering for Maxwell cemetery to help out on days when my health was permitting. I currently live in Ames, not Maxwell anymore. You can look through my Maxwell and the center cemetery entries and if there are any you'd like... Let me know. With the exception of Mike Tinkham in the cemetery in center, that's my sister-in-law's father. I just did this to help others who may not be near by and to make records in case any older ones got damaged; I didn't do it for the numbers or recognition. I hope you have a good holiday as well.

I have transferred Clint's memorial record to you. I was only trying to help and used what little information I had... I cannot recall where I got it. But it is rather frustrating when people make misleading grave stones of those who aren't dead and make inaccurate obituaries. Although, I cannot remember the specifics of this one, those are generally two main sources for me. Since you know him, it is yours to tend now.

Hi, Dennis. Is it at all possible that your Sarah Gould who married John Bell is the same one as the one in my tree? I have them as parents of Oscar Gould Bell, who married into my Barton family. Elizabeth M Barton Bell was buried in Wapello, IA. Any reply is appreciated. Thanks. Judy in Ohio

Dennis, Yes I am interested.. I have some rather recent relatives as well as the old ones. There is a tree on rootsweb that I hope you will look up. Just type in Rebecca Ellis, because there are fewer people to search thru, and when you get all the tree's up, scroll down on the right of the screen to a contributer "doile". That is my maiden name.
I have a new computer, two weeks, that I think I am gong too hate it is so slow. And it is an HP. So until I figure out why it has already locked up on me, that will keep you busy. lol And you can check out y profile on this too.
Please write back on this, I can't even get an email set up on this yet. And a tec couldn't either. ????

Hi, please forgive my oversite. I know better. I don't think I know your name. I have a hugh tree for the Cotters as I am related over and over and over. Actually in 5 of my famiies. Love to talk to other Cotters. I actually went back thru some of the cemeterys and a lot of church records. lol Isn't that what retirement is for??? I will fix this right now. Thank you so very much.

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting places of many "old soldiers" that had any ties to Vermont Jones Foster is one such patriot. May I use the photo you posted on his Find A Grave Memorial page, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org"
You would receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

Thank-you for the recent Memorial for my 3rd gr Grandmother. I believed she was buried in Story County, but could not be certain she had a grave stone. One of her daughters is Margaret Ellison [1836-1900] # 45237918 whom she was living with during the 1880 Census, Story County. Mary's Husband William Bishop is bur. in Van Buren or Davis County Iowa? or here, having died many years prior. Since it is very late, I will have to help link the immediate family at another time. Gravers have been very active this May and June, and as always I Thank-you for your time.

Wanted to touch base with you and see if you have any new information... I have an idea that I wanted to share with you - let me know what you think? On Family Search I typed in last name Shelley (no first name) born in Iredell county, NC and place of residence Henry County, IN. and several Shelleys came up, on James Shelley census page a son was listed as born in Ohio, I know that William Shelley family traveled to Ohio ( found this reading his obit)William was not listed on this census as he was already married. all the other children listed were born in IN. I believe - Wm. was two yrs of age when family left NC for OH. Its the best lead I've had, I know I need more to go on - let me know if you have anything on this James Shelley b. 1805 married to Isabel( first wife ) also had second wife. I think he died after 1850 and before 1860.
