I have a passion for genealogy. Searching for my ancestors is such a fun hobby. I am hoping that my good deeds of adding information on other families, will someday be rewarded by someone posting some of my missing pieces. Good luck to all! |
I am interested in anyone with the last name of WISECUP.

Are you related to him of Vergie? She is a distant cousin of mine.

Thank you. I will be happy to maintain/update it. I am still figuring some of these steps out so bear with me if I misunderstand part of the process.

May I have your permission to use your photos on my family tree on my Ancestry page? I always give credit to the photographer.
Thanks so much,

I really have no info. This is in my son's family line.

I asked about Nancy Wisecup because I am trying to identify Thomas Metz' first wife. I believe her name was Minerva Jane (just like one of her daughter's was named), but I do not know her maiden name. It occurred to me that perhaps Nancy was her sister? Also, I do not know the maiden name of Thomas Metz's 2nd wife, either. She was Margaret A. Maybe she was Nancy's sister. Do you have any clues?

Mary Thoroman Metz (wife of Jacob Metz) was the daughter of Thomas Thoroman & Esther Crawford Thoroman. She was the mother of William Metz, Thomas Metz, Elizabeth Metz Sprinkle (my triple great grandmother) & Mary Martha Metz Killin.
Your profile mentions you are interested in anyone with the surname Wisecup.
At the time of the 1870 census, Nancy Wisecup was living with Thomas Metz & his wife Margaret in Meigs Twp., Adams Co., OH. Can you identify Nancy?
Thomas Metz is the son of Jacob Metz & Mary Thoroman Metz. They are my 4th great grandparents.

I have done the same thing for Ezra. Even though the parents (Dennis and Loretta) were still alive, I doubt they would have had the finances to purchase a marker. From family stories, Loretta was just barely able to scrape enough money to purchase a marker for Dennis when he died. Maybe something will surface someday.
