The index is now ready for distribution - contact me if you want a copy of it.|
I have spoken to the Poughkeepsie Journal (owned by Gannett Publications), who referred me back to their newspaper where is stated that all obituaries, pictures and information MAY be used by the reader in whatever way they wish, including reproduction for reposting electronically in part or whole for publishing. With this in mind it is my notification that I do have permission to post the obituaries I have placed on memorials and ask that they remain.
I am currently working on putting together a book to include the over 3,000 obituaries I have located for family members with indexing and cross-referencing. This project will probably take up most of my next few months, but I will still be posting here on Findagrave as I discover new family members. Anyone interested in copy of this book can contact me at my e-mail address. Since it is looking to be a large book, I may split into two parts: men and women.
I have been researching my family tree for about 30 years now, and just started really going through graveyards looking for family members about 20 years ago. I have found more information on the internet in the short time I have been researching here than in all the time I spent in libraries, courthouses, and town halls. I will be taking pictures of gravestones of as many people as I can and adding to local cemeteries and findagrave.com over the spring, summer and fall of 2016. If anyone has a family member, that I have added to this site, to yourself (who is not a direct family member for myself) please let me know and I will be happy to transfer ownership to you. I'd would rather have family members maintain memorials than a stranger who has no connection, but I feel no burial place should be neglected or forgotten. If there is someone or a graveyard you wish me to find for you in the Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster County areas let me know and I will add it to my travels. My hope is to do a complete census of as many cemeteries as possible over the next few years.
Another note: for old New York newspaper articles you can use Fultonhistory.com. They have papers from the 1700's to 2000's. You can search for family members there.
One more note: I hereby give permission for all to use photos I have posted. I feel that if these are your family you have as much right to add them as I do. You do not need to ask, and I do not require you to attribute them to me, unless you wish too. It is good to find loved ones and I am happy that if I have found yours for you.

Hi Patrick. Can you do me a favor? Can you see if you can find an obit in the PJ for a Luthenia Brown Connolly, wife of William, died 9 Feb 1943. I'm trying to help someone track down her family, Luthenia being the 2nd great grandmother. If I can get an decent obit of her, it would be a great help. She's buried in St Peter's in Pok, and supposed died in Pok.
Appreciate your help

Phebe Ackert Smith wife of Platt Smith. You noted Phebe is the dau of Phoebe Waters and Ackert. I am very grateful for a clue to her parents names. Could you kindly tell me the source of her parents' names as they are not resting in the same cemetery? Thank you for your time and consideration of my request.

Didn't know they had the PJ. Years ago I spent mucho bucks to join something (can't even remember the name), just for the PJ. Then they decided the database was "too expensive" and got rid of it. Thanks for the info

FYI, thanks for the heads up the lovelaces. I fixed it.
Where are you finding the copies of the Pou Journal from the 1960's on? I used to have access to them in a database, but they were deleted. I assume you're getting online somewhere?
Hope all is well with you

|Michael Whitton||Richard Accent's wife|
I have fulfilled the photo request for Richard Ackert in Wurtemberg Cemetery. Also on the stone was his wife Hannah E. Cashner. I added her photo to Richard's memorial since she does not have a memorial. I figured you would want to own her memorial, so I didn't create one.

I see that a Jennie Vail was married to a Teater. Do you have any information on her and who her parents are. I belong to her line.
Thanks Kim Hardy

|Sheila Farrington Schweitzer||James Farrington|
Dear Sir: Thank you so very much for the transfer of my relative, James, and his family. I appreciate it very much. My Farrington family all came from this Dutchess County area to the Onondaga and Cayuga County region and I have been trying to connect as many as possible together with any bio information I might have on them.They are a huge family going back to around 1635 and they all had big families. Thank you, also, for your dedication and hard work which benefits so many of us.
