"Show me [how you care for] your cemeteries and I will tell you what kind of people you have."|
All of my ancestors for at least six generations are from Fentress county Tennessee. I have a great deal of interest in the history of that area.
Some family names are: WINNINGHAM, ATKINSON, COOPER, WRIGHT, CONATSER, MASSINGILL, BEATY, HOOVER, KING, ROBBINS, YOUNG.
I would love to have old family photos and would be glad to share mine!
I have found many cousins here on Find a Grave and would like to meet more.
"If I didn't have those people back there, I would never have had anything to write about. That's where I got all my stories from. My life is from them. … I'm going to do everything to keep up for them, in memory. That is my duty from now until I die."
- Author Ernest J. Gaines explaining why he takes care of an old cemetery on the former plantation where five generations of his ancestors, going back to slavery, are buried.

just to add more details to the description..Burkett is located near the river on a big hill on land owned by Gary Drum. This cemetery is near Pottersville. It is fenced with two different entrances and was overgrown when I was there. The west side of the cemetery faces the river and is on a sheer rock cliff. The cemetery goes back to the earliest days; some of the markers are stones from the river.

May I have permission to add her photo to my Ancestry.com family tree. Your name and date taken will be shown.
Also did I send you the link to her mom Phoebe 54576652
Thank you for adding the photo of my 1st cousin 5x removed. It's always exciting to make such finds! Do you allow for the use of your photos by others? If you do, I'd love to add this photo (and any others I may find of my relatives) to my Ancestry tree. Either way, thanks for your efforts!
