I have been a member now for almost 21 years and have met some really great people on here. I have connected a lot of family members in my family and added them to my virtual cemeteries.

As far as my photos please feel free to use them but it would be nice to be recognized that I am the contributor. Transfers if you are related and want a transfer and will manage the memorial don't be afraid to ask just please ask the right way. I will transfer as long as they are not part of my family and as long as you are a contributor to FInd A Grave would make it a little clearer: If you are related to the deceased and have more you can add to a memorial please feel free to request a transfer. If you are an active contributor and the person isn't in my family I will transfer. If you seldom contribute to Find A Grave I am not likely to transfer. I get requests for memorials lately from people who have been members for a couple of years and only added a few memorials. I have kind of an issue with transferring to these people as those of us who go into the cemeteries and record the information put a lot of work into this. So if it's showing my you added a few names in the past few years and nothing else I may possibly not transfer. From now on also you need to send me proof of how you are related. If you are researching the family then use records from Ancestry or Familysearch to do this. This way I know the relationship exists and I am more likely to transfer. And please do NOT just say transfer this to me it's my family. A little kindness goes a long way with me. There are many that I manage I am not related to so am more than happy to transfer outside the guidelines FInd A Grave has set. All I ask if a closer relative asks you transfer to them out of courtesy.

This is a great site for genealogy it's not about the numbers I have taken over management of some lately just to add information using ancestry and other sites and connecting family members. You should always be able to back up where you get the information you want me to add from a reputable resource.

As of March 30, 2021 I took on the task of fixing the Evergreen and Greenwood Cemeteries in Stockton, NY. I have all of the correct records for both cemeteries and what stones could be found and read have been photographed for Evergreen so far. I have found in a few days over 150 memorials placed there that are not buried there. Most people have been very awesome in removing the ones that do not belong. I guess it is important t remember a paper article isn't always right or guessing because a family member is buried there then they must belong there. This can be a big roadblock for people in genealogy and we should all be working together to fix mistakes like this so thanks to those who have helped.

I also adopted many memorials from some people who are gone and like ALL of us they made mistakes so when you send me a message asking me to fix something be nice or I will simply delete the message like I have a few. Try a little kindness that is how I treat people I expect the same.

I recently took on the role as Chautauqua County coordinator for the Painted Hills Genealogy Society so am in the process of fixing and adding cemeteries in that county.

It amazes me how we all seem to being this for a good reason and should try to help each other and be kind. I have gotten some rude responses from people in the past and it really bothers me. To be honest when this happens I just tend to ignore it. As you can tell by memorials and the photos I have taken I go and actually walk the cemeteries and add memorials or photos and many times I have done the whole cemetery. I am not trying to be a jerk but some people make me feel this way so this is why I am putting this here so people know where I stand.

I seem to get transfer requests quite a bit but to be honest I am going to from now on stop transferring becuase people want to add information unless I know who you are and also depends on the number of memorials you have actually created unless you can prove the line to have them transferred according to the guidelines of the site. Those of us who go out there and take photos and spend hours adding photos etc I think have every reason to do this. I manage quite a few that I did not create, mainly from two people who have passed on then a person who made me ward of all of his memorials as he no longer has enough time to take care of them, his I will NOT transfer unless it falls into the guidelines. Also it is nice of the people who create memorials and all I need to do is add the photo or some information, it saves me a lot of time. Not everyone can go out there and do what some of us do but what you do helps.

If I do not know you or are not familiar with you please when you send me an edit please tell me where you received the information so I know it is accurate.

I appreciate all of the edits and it is hard to keep up with them as this is not my full time job. For the most part people are nice but if you come at me with an attitude I will NOT respond this is something I do more for others so they can find the information and am happy to correct things. Some people seem not to know how to deal nicely or fairly to other people. WOW
