Friends, you are invited to visit the memorial page for our son |
Nathan Peurifoy He died unexpectedly in October 2014 at age 26 from a diabetic coma.
I am taking a leave of absence from Find a grave for awhile. I'll keep up with my edits, but corrections will just have to wait..
Thank you all for your prayers, friendship and care. It is appreciated.
The life of a person is more than the dash between two dates. It is my hope that the memorials which I create or manage can make the individuals life fuller, even if just linking to family members or adding a few tidbits of information. Researching and including other family information makes them more than graves, they are people. Suggestions are welcome but please submit them using the edit button at the upper right corner of each memorial.
Even when transcribing cemeteries I work hard to link other family members.
I live in the northwestern mountains of North Carolina and have work primarily in cemeteries there. My current focus is Carolina Memorial Park in Concord, North Carolina. There are 28,000 graves but only about 15,500+ listed. I've done more than 4,000 of those. Much of my family is buried there.
PLEASE DO NOT POST DEATH CERTIFICATES ON MY MEMORIALS.
PLEASE DO NOT POST OBITUARY PICTURES, THEY ARE COPYRIGHTED.
My family can be traced back 46 generations to County Leichester, England. The family is English/Norman. They came to England with William after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The photo above is my ancestor, Sir Nicholas Purefoy, buried in The Church of St. Michael and all Angels in Fenny Drayton, Co. Leicestershire, England. The spelling of my name is the most rare of the three family groups: Purefoy, Purifoy and Peurifoy. The early Purefoys were in Jamestown, VA long before the Hugonaut movement.
On my paternal side I am interested in the Peurifoy, Purifoy, Purefoy, Scott and Suther families.
For my maternal side are Statons, Stiller's,and Moores (from Stanly Co, NC).
My wife is from the Byrd and Carr families of Duplin County, NC.
You are invited to visit the memorials of my grandmother Lillian Scott Peurifoy, my mother
Hazel Staton Peurifoy
and Father Robert Eugene Peurifoy.
Photos of graves are free to use. However, personal photos of individuals are copyrighted by this writer and can only be used on other sites by written request via email (not "public messages on my personal page) and acknowledgement of original owner of the photograph.
Thanks to all who help with my typo, mistakes and incorrect links. I could not accomplish this without your help.
Proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders.

Robert, I was able to add some information to this memorial. All this information is taken from L C's death certificate from the Fowler family. Could you connect his parents and wife for me. His father was Wade Hampton Fowler, mother Sarah Ann Baucom, wife Hazel (Roberts) Fowler. Thanks for your dedication. Enjoyed reading your profile.

And we should be proud of our WW II VetS. A bygone era that I doubt will ever exsist again.
|Susan I. Grills||MacFadyen|
Yes, I just goofed too, putting Mc when I meant to put Mac! The Fadyen part of the name was what I meant. I have always heard it pronounced as Mac/Mc Fadden, but that Fadyen spelling is so strange that I am not surprised that you see official records spelling it as Fayden. It does make more sense that way, but they have it as MacFadyen on all the headstones as well as the larger monument so I am sure that is right, just like the guy I knew in college. But I guess you get weird spellings of Peurifoy too!
|Susan I. Grills||McFadyen family|
I think the reason you can't find the dad is you have their names misspelled. I missed that when I sent you the correction on Annie Laurie's name. Notice it is McFadyen rather than McFayden. I went to college with a Duncan McFadyen and remembered the odd spelling. Pronounced as McFadden. I think that is a name from eastern NC. You'll need to correct all 3 of them.
Yes, I am continuing to get initial Edits from A--- as well, even though I am now declining them. Glad someone brought up the subject on the forum and realized the way I had done them all along was correct.
|Tina Adams||RE: Garlock graves|
Hi Robert, so sorry for the loss of your friends. I had only asked as my great grand father and one of the Garlocks started Garlock Industries together. Clinton Pulver.
When time permits may I ask if you might look up a record for me?
|Tina Adams||RE: Garlock graves|
Hi Robert, it is our pleasure! Are you related to the Garlocks?
Robert I haven't dealt with her,but I have had a few that send edits that would take away some of their married names,especially If they had been married multiple times. I have also had 1 person that would send different parent's than the one's I know are that persons parent's. I wish these people would make sure about their Information was correct before they send It. Carol
