It is about time I enter my bio information, I've been on this site for many years and not done that, sorry!|
I have tracked my Bicknese line back to the mid 1600's. My main interest here is to connect all Bicknese' and it's working. only 5 branches (now 3, as of Sept 2012, 2 more branches connected) ones that I've not found a common link!
The Rogers family of Ellejoy, Blount Co., Tennessee is another family line, starting with Willoughby Rogers 1757-1828.
My Davis family line is another question. In Blount Co. TN, my Davis line is as far back as I have been able to go. The handed down name of Fieldson Davis is where it stops. There has been a finding of a paper trail to a Richman Davis of the same period. There has been DNA testing done and there is a family in Manchester, Coffee Co., Tennessee that is a match. But I do not have the common link, YET! But I'm working on that.
On my mothers side of the family my interest lie in the Long, Horner, Birkett, Boots, Engle, Manifold, McMullen families, plus many more as the line goes back in time. It does take long to find you have 64 pair of grand parents.
Enjoy your searching and let me know if I can help with yours!

Thank you so much for the picture of his grave. He is my first cousin

I've uploaded your photo request for Louisa Moeller. Her name is spelled "Louise" but the dates match. Her stone is nowhere near her husband's stone in the cemetery. I found hers in the front couple rows in the NW corner and his is nearer the middle of the cemetery, several rows east of the fence and just north of the path leading in from the southmost entrance. The two stones seem to match in style and material. Mystery solved!

My sister transcribed the 1882 biographies several years ago and added them to the Floyd County Iowa genweb site. I scanned the biographies from the 1917 History of Floyd County and added them to the same website. You should check out the Floyd County site. There has been a lot of information added to it.

Thank you so very much for taking time out of your day to take the photo of Lena Rhea Wright Tipton for me :)
|Joyce DeLong||RE: Irene (Bicknese) Dobling|
you are most welcome!
Interesting about DeLong/Long! Small world!
I get home to Oxford Junction Iowa several times a year. (OJ is a neighboring community to Lost Nation).
I picked up the requests I could find in Mayflower (in OJ). And got a start on the Lost Nation requests - but rain cut my search short. If the requests aren't picked up by someone else, I'll try and catch them my next trip back.

I have sent some automatic updates and they have not yet been completed. It is a relatively new way to update and perhaps you are unfamiliar with it. The tab is on your profile page in the upper right hand corner. It reads "Edits."
Thank you in advance,

Thanks for your reply; apparently I spelled the name of Heckart wrong, I do have it as Heckart not Hackart. Sorry for the confusion!
