Bio

I began my family genealogy search when I bought my first PC back in 1989. One of the first programs I purchased was Family Tree Maker and I've used that along with an ancestry.com subscription. I've used findagrave.com over the years, but recently became a member 4 months ago. The popularity of descendents wanting to locate the final resting place of their ancestors has exploded over time. To be able to see or visit the final resting place of an ancestor gives us a physical connection to that person(s) who may have died years or centuries ago.

My interest lies in photographing the grave stones and transcribing the information on them including those quaint and sometimes mystifying sentiments. I'm not interested in managing a lot of memorials and have not requested transfers of my close relatives. Those memorials that I have created are done because no one else has and I uploaded the photograph. Please feel free to download any one of my photographs for your family tree.

During 2017, a major rejuvenation has taken place at Pine Grove Cemetery aka Bow Wow Cemetery in Sheffield, Ma. Gravestones have been cleaned, up-righted, and repaired taking it from a semi-neglected place to one of the better maintained burial places in Sheffield. A lot of effort by volunteers and professionals coming together have worked miracles in transforming this cemetery. I'll be putting up new photos as time permits. If I do put a new photo of one already on findagrave by another volunteer, leave yours up. The contrast is impressive.

I'm a member of the Sheffield Historical Society and utilize the resources of the Mark Dewey Research Center along with the Town of Sheffield records. I am also on the Board of the Pine Grove aka Bow Wow Cemetery.
