This has been my hobby for over seven years, started long before I discovered any websites for posting them.|
I find myself concentrating on the older, broken, unreadable tombstones, the ones that, because of layers of mold, lichen and grime, are so obscure that people tend to walk right past them. I get more satisfaction uncovering a lost individual's stone than I do photographing huge monuments that will be around for a thousand years and those more modern ones of the men whose bones have partially disintegrated while still clothed in the everlasting polyester suits that they were buried in!

|Johannes G Hospel||Subject Linking two People|
Dear Cheryl, you have ben active in Find A Grave. WAUW!
Here are two people that could be linked.
Mary (Schuster) Kemp, # 15810560
Anton Kemp, # 15810549
You placed photos for these two, Husband and Wife.
Would you also be so kind and "link" them. They are related to my wife's ancestors.
The cemetery is in St Catherine Cemetery, Dubuque County, Iowa.
Thank you for the consideration.

|D Burke||Transfer of memorial|
Would you mind a transfer of Temperance Bankston Gillespie 77107309? She is my third great grand aunt and last weekend I visited her gravesite.

Thank you!!! Much appreciated !! Did you, by any chance, see his parents or grandparents' stones there? If so, could you please add their photos too? I am working on the family history, and it would be nice to have that to share with the cousins there. Again, thank you!

I updated this memorial per your suggestion. I'd be happy to transfer management of this to you - just let me know.
Thank you so much Cheryl for all your time and effort you spent locating and photographing all the headstones for me over the past couple weeks. I also appreciate all your help with adding the transcribed obits and the additions to the memorial pages. You've been a great help!
Thank you very much for the Baders as well.

Thank you very much for the photo.
|Mr. Badger Hawkeye||Charles Miller #84602039|
I believe his year of death should be 1931, not 1932. His obituary (which I have posted) came from the July 1, 1931 edition of the Dubuque Telegraph Herald and Times Journal. Also in the Iowa State Archives website, his death record appears as follows:
Miller, Charles 18 Sept. 1853 Iowa 01 July 1931 Dubuque B31-0109 D2640
Maybe the individual who did the engraving for his tombstone put in the wrong year.
THANK YOU so much for your time, travel, etc. to photo this stone for me.
