With this site being named 'Find A Grave', 100% of my entries tell how to actually find the grave, along with a photo of the monument.|
Oak Lawn Cemetery, Cresco
started recording on Feb 4, 2014. Listing the names and dates first, photos will come later.
I'm employed as a mortician with Lindstrom Funeral Homes in Creso.
Please contact me if you would like the persons obituary or any other biographical information listed or photos added. These are items that would be provided by yourself, submitted to me to post.
If you see any mistakes or errors in my postings, please let me know and I'll make corrections.

I'm trying to list all the burials with biographies and photos that I can for my ancestors/relatives. This includes the sirnames of Heit, Boellerschen, Papenheim, Lange, Grimm and Zmoos. Most of my relatives are buried in the following three cemeteries; St. Johns Lutheran (Stapleton) a few miles west of Waucoma, St. Mary's Cemetery New Hampton and a few in St. Mary's Cemetery in North Washington.
The following is a listing of the cemeteries that I photographed each monument in it and the date I finished posting them to Find A Grave. Each cemetery did have at least a few monuments where I could not read the last name on it, and therefore did not post.

|Rose Mary (Loutsch) Mullane||Donald Mai, Sr|
I would like to know if you still have the monument photo that
you posted on Donald Mai Sr's page #51184277?
If you do would you please post it to his wife,
Eta Ann Sitzmann Ma's page #34492676?
I appreciate your work in taking the photos,
setting up the pages if there isn't a page.

Thank-you for your entries of my family. I really appreciate you putting them up. You helped me in one of my many searches for my relatives. I have more than what you have on their pages if you want that information please tell me. I figure if its not up there then you don't have it but would you by any chance, know Philip's parent's names? Doesn't hurt to ask.Thank-you for all your help.

I appreciate the effort you put into making find-a-grave a better place to research family history. That being said, I found your posting of the picture of the Calvary Cemetery entrance photo on umpteen memorials unnerving in that when going through the cemetery to see which memorials need headstone photos, I get the wrong impression when the only photo posted for a memorial is the one you posted of the cemetery entrance. In my opinion, I shouldn't have to click on every memorial to see if a headstone photo is present or not. The entrance photo can also present a problem if there are several images that could be posted to a memorial, but the one of the entrance is taking up one of the allotted spots. I would greatly appreciate you removing the entrance photos.
Keep up the otherwise wonderful work,
|Dian Babcock ||Maria Schofield birth date|
In my family records Maria's birth is August 1806 New York. That is all I have
In the 1870 Census New Oregon, Howard County, Iowa George Wheeler Schofield 67 seems to be living alone. in 1880 Census Vernon Springs, Howard County, Iowa Maria is living with her daughter Emeline McCullock.
And in the family records I have George Wheeler Schofield died January 26, 1878
This information is only written out from a Bible probably. Dian

To Len, I just came back on to check out all the obituaries I typed out and this was my first to read and saw you had left a message.
My great grandmother was Almeda Schofield Clark.
I see that I don't have a burial place for George W. Schofield but thought since he died first that he may have been buried else where but Maria died like 5 years later at her daughters home in Cresco, Iowa. I don't see a grave for George in the New Oregon Cemetery.
Looks like they left New Oregon, Iowa and moved to Cresco, Iowa in the early 1870's, so that must be their last home together. There is a letter he wrote to his daughter, Almeda Clark a few months before he died in October 7, 1877 saying how he worked hard and was wearing out that he didn't have much time left on earth. I wonder too if he was buried near Maria.
