My mother was only 13 when her mother passed away so she knew very little about her background ... in 2004 I began staying with my mother on the weekends to help with her care. I began doing the family genealogy to give us something to share during the time I spent there. Every time I would walk in she would ask "Have you found anything new"? She would spend hours going over everything I had found and typed up. If I didn't have anything new she would reread what I already had!! |
Mom passed away in 2006 at the age of 93. My notebooks have all been setting on the shelf since then, it just wasn't the same without her to share it with .. but I have now become reinterested and am "digging" again!!
Doing the family genealogy is like putting a giant puzzle together and each piece I have found has been such a thrill!! I decided perhaps it was time to start sharing some of the info I have in order to help others find that great thrill that comes with finally finding another piece!!!! So .. if you have the surname Shrider, McCurdy, Winnett or Gresham / Grissom in your ancestry you MIGHT find a piece of your puzzle here when I get them all posted!!!

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you so much for her transfer. I will take great care of Loucinda & the memorial you added for her and Thank you for taking time out of your day to add love ones on Find A Grave.. Loucinda is related to me from both her parents side of the families. Your hard work is much appreciated. Diana
I was looking up info on Henry A Tippett, and came across your photo of the Tippett Cemetery. Are you related to the Tippetts, and do you have any ancestry info on them? Anything you can tell me would be appreciated.

I'm not related but he's in my distant family line, related to the Stroupe name in Jefferson County. I can take him over if you want to transfer him to me.

You're very welcome. Glad I can help :)
I'm related distantly to Andrew Stroupe but would be happy to manage him.

Hi - do you have any more info about where I can find the cemetery you show George Shrider buried in? I am going to be doing research in that area and would like to go by his grave if possible.
