Bio Photo "One person can make a difference, and everyone should try." John Fitzgerald Kennedy

The best way to give back on this site is to go out to a local cemetery and fulfill some photo requests. If someone has fulfilled photo requests for you, maybe it's time to go do the same for someone else. It really is very rewarding for both you and the person for whom you take the photo.

The best way you can help the volunteer photographers is to post the burial plot of the grave markers you want photographed. Posting photo requests without a burial plot is like trying to get somewhere without directions. You might get there eventually, but it could have been a whole lot easier and taken much less time. The "Help with Find A Grave" file clearly states that the person requesting a photo is to provide the burial plot for the photographers.

Almost all memorials I create are not family members, and I am willing to transfer them to other members.

Do not use the photos I take anywhere else, including within Find A Grave, without permission. I retain the copyright to all of my photos.

Major Accomplishment 2016: Fulfilled my 4,000th photo request on September 9, 2016. Discovered and photographed the burial books for St. Vincent Cemetery in LaSalle, Illinois.

Major Accomplishment 2015: Fulfilled over 500 photo requests, most of which were at Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois, and cleared up 75% of the photo requests at the cemetery.

Major Accomplishment 2014: Fulfilled over 2,222 photo requests with number 2,000 occurring on October 28, 2014. Multiple cemeteries with large backlogs of over 100 photo requests were cleaned up while completing this project.

Major Accomplishment 2013: Added photos for all 433 persons buried in the Chicago Typographical Union Section of Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove, Illinois along with most of the veterans sections, the old age home, Civil War wives, and a large group of graves at the southern end of the cemetery.

Not sure. I am going to visit the cemetery sometime this month, and I will confirm if she ever truly was there or not.

Dear Ace, thank you for pointing out the discrepancy of my Great Great Grandfather. Forest Park burials has become very confusing and locating family members, difficult. Once I locate him, I'll look you up and hopefully you will be able to fulfill my photo request. Until then, Blessings to you and yours. ~Deena

Photo Req. John Schelter - Bayville Cem
Hi, We walked this cemetery the other day & did not find a grave. Are you sure he is buried there? I did some searching in period newspapers and an article in the Jersey Journal June 21, 1921 p. 7 indicates he was buried in the New York Bay Cemetery, which is in Jersey City & makes more sense. He was from there & his widow remained there. New York Bay Cem. and Bayview Cem. were adjacent to each other in Jersey City & at some point the two merged - now called Bayview- New York Bay Cem. You might want to check with the cemetery office for more info. If you find he is indeed at the BAYVILLE Cem. (Ocean Co.) & get more specific info on where, I can go back.
Take care.
